Golota has to be up there for seeing what an aggressive, fast starting Lennox Lewis could do when he wanted to turn it up.

The Vitali fight for the drama. Lewis showed character in that fight, IMO.

Rahman II for showing that NOBODY got revenge like Lewis did.

The fight against the Serbian/Croatian dude around '98 was decent (I forget the guys name).

    Holyfield II. Revenge again.

    The fight with Gary Mason.

    There's been quite a few.

I'd include the Ruddock fight somewhere on that list.

I personally liked him against razor Ruddock.
Ruddock had just been the distance with Tyson and was one of the hardest hitters of the era. It was a tough assignment and a real make or break fight for lewis.
Lewis went out and blew him away like he was nothing and looked great doing it.
A shame he turned into an over cautious jab and grab merchant afterwards but hey ho

Razor Ruddock - While Lewis didn't "come out of nowhere", Ruddock was favored based on his showings vs. Dokes & Tyson, while Lewis was untested and unproven.

Tommy Morrison - Lewis made it look easy & showed he was a couple of levels above Morrison.

Andrew Golota - I was really sold on Golota after his showings vs. Bowe, DQ losses aside. I didn't see Lewis blowing him out so easily.

Michael Grant - Grant was supposed to be the dominant heavyweight of the new millennium. Glolota exposed some weaknesses, but few expected Lewis to utterly destroy Grant the way he did.

The above showings don't seem so remarkable in hindsight, as none of those opponents did much after losing to Lewis. So I've got to add his hard-fought victory over Vitali Klitschko to the list. Lewis came in at a career-high weight and was expecting to fight Kirk Johnson. Vitali was unproven and, based off of the Chris Byrd loss, not highly regarded. Klitschko came to win and Lewis doubled down to keep his title. Klitschko went on to win a portion of the title, fought many highly ranked contenders, and never lost again. I think it says something that Lewis was able to stop him.

Thanks! If I had to pick one I'd pick Klitschko, based on what Vitali went on to accomplish.

Rahman 2. His legacy was pretty much riding on that fight. Massive pressure and it couldn't have gone better really, the ko was all time, better than the ko Rahman got over him.

    Briggs fight was entertaining too.

People go on about Lewis been a jab and grab, I think that was when he fought good small inside fighters he used to tie them up as a tactic. There was only the Holyfield and the Tua fights where he used those tactics, and to be honest when he did use those kind of tactics he was very difficult to fight, both Tua and Holyfield struggled like **** to get on the inside all night long, whilst getting their heads jabbed off.

The rest of Lewis's career was exciting I think, some right good tear ups and fast ass KO's were he just blizted his opponent.

Great champion, up there with the elite IMO.

I thought the early lewis was great. Bold, aggressive, a good boxer who would look for the kayo.
Then he met oliver mcall and it changed him forever.
He became overly cautious, gun shy, began to jab and grab.
Then he really began to jab and grab.
I know he didn't get hit vs tus and that's the name of the game but it was a very unsatisfying fight to watch.
Lewis was extremely safety first at this point which is a shame as he had every size advantage over most.
Call me old fashioned but I think the heavyweight champ has a responsibility to be exciting.

I gotta go with the Tua fight, lots of folks picked Tua to win that, and Lewis schooled him like an Amatuer:yep...

The revenge win over Rahman, has gotta be at the top too:hi:
