i'm sure there are some clean boxers, but i'd be more surprised if none of them use than if they all do.
Tony Thompson doesn't. He said they should be made legal though just so all boxers are on a level playing field rather than 40-50% cheating as he believes at present. Interesting argument
PED's exist in Boxing. We have had enough convicted cheats so why name people that haven't tested positive? :huh Roy Jones James Toney (not once but twice) Luis Ortiz Tarver Vargas Mosley etc.
Pretty much all non elite are using it as well. Test is so cheap, the more money they make the more designer drugs they can afford though. But beating random testing is so insanely easy every single person making money of their athletic performance is on PED's to think otherwise nowadays is the same as still believing in Santa.
Yep people assume that because they can't do something no one could possibly do it naturally. Innocent until proven guilty. Reflex fighters especially I like to think of as clean. Unfortunately there is just cause for suspecting many top level fighters (have you ever seen more young fighting males on testosterone treatment therapy than in the UFC? So let me get this straight ... all these violent guys have low test levels? HMMMMM I wonder why.) Some guys are just gifted, and when the hard work also applies, they are capable of things that another couldn't reach even with illegal augmentation.
i´d say the majority are. I´ve tried to find the survey and article, it was several years ago i read it, but havent been able to dig it up, but they interviewed athletes who competed at a certain level. These athletes were asked one question: Would you be willing to cut of 10 years of your life, if itmeant winning the olympic gold Iirc it was 60% who said yes. Remember, olympics are for amateurs. There are countries where its rewarding, but compared to the pros, its really not worth mentioning in relation to earnings for athletes. Im not saying this survey, that i read years ago, is the bible, but it does show the lenghts that they are willing to go to. People are cheating on an amateur level, where the monetary rewards are less, so the wuestion you should ask is, would the human race be lees inclined to cheat, if there was more to be earned? i´d argue, that if there is more to be earned, then more cheating will take place.
