How would you feel if a boxer from your hometown put on a poor performance knowing he has to perform for hometown audience and his response to getting beat was I didn't train hard, oh well whatever.
Alvarado only has himself to blame His outside life has obviously become so drastic that he can no longer compete at the level he was. Point is if Alvarado really wanted to win he wouldnt be getting involved in the trouble outside of boxing. I like the dude but he really needs to sit down and sort his priorities out, if he doesnt im afraid he may end up dead in a year or two with the way things are going
Probably embarrassed as any hometown fan, it can affect the mood of a whole town, even nation. You want people to say you come from a region that produces great fighters, like Sinaloa or Tepito in Mexico or Philly, NY, or Cali in the U.S. No one likes underachievers, not just in boxing. Alvarado lost this fight before it even began it seems.
alvarado should ahve been stopped in round 2. The fact that his corner & the ref didnt' stop the fight earlier is pretty deplorable. Guy was getting murdered
Well considering his background I wouldn't have expected any different. I'm a boxing fan so if I lived there I would have gone, but I probably wouldn't be investing myself in the hometown boy knowing he's a multi-time convicted felon who's out getting arrested in illegal possession of a weapon at 4 a.m. To me, that would be a hint that he's probably not going to be in peak condition.
it's going to be much harder for him to finish his career now personally. trying to prove to his hometown and mainly the people he knows as denvers favourite son will get harder and harder to finish the conversation. the guy doesnt need to end his career just needs to get readjusted to life.
It's a shame his life is spiralling downhill, I'm a fan of Alvarado but with what's going on with him at the moment it just seems he hasn't got the dedication or the ability to be at the level he was 18 months ago. Hope he gets himself sorted out and finds redemption outside of the ring, that said I do think it's time he hung the gloves up though.
Is there a clear story of what the hell is going on with this guy? I'm hearing serious allegations from out of control partying to straight-up methamphetamine abuse. Couple that with his recent arrest and the possibility that making money as a professional prize fighter getting essentially got tossed out the window, things are looking really bad for Mike.
He looked in bad shape and got well beaten if he's living as bad as people say he won't give a **** let's hope he sorts himself out enough to feel bad about it in the future
