After seeing the incredible support Warrington got in his last fight against absolute no hoper, I did allay fears that Hearn would take advantage with cheap, hopeless and riskless opponents. Apparently it is much worse than I thought as Josh will be facing Dennis*Tubieron at the Leeds Arena, in front of what I anticipate will be a sellout crowd of around 10000.

Held to a draw in his last fight against the 90th ranked feather weight in the world, knocked out in 6 rounds by the 126th ranked featherweight in the world who was in his 6th fight, this truly is taking the p***. Very bad for the young lads development and day light robbery to the paying fans.

It's an official eliminator for the WBC.

The last fight was for the European title and this one will give him a great ranking with the WBC. You are clearly on a windup...

I'm not on a wind up, I'm going to tthe fight and the main event will be over in a round or two.

Yeah, it's an eliminator, but don't tell me Hearn didn't have a choice of opponents. He's exploiting the fans who will go anyway, most of them wouldn't normally go to boxing so they don't know better. I'm not anti Hearn, I'm actually a big fan, but there is absolutely no positives to this fight other tha an EXTREMELY cheap, risk free opponent.

Young Josh has a carreer ahead of him...... It's a buiness! Let the lad learn before he's put in with Walters etc.

That's the reason though, helps with his ranking and its low risk - it's good career management but if I'd paid for a ticket id be annoyed

People need to remember Josh is still young and learning. He's stepped up a lot recently and only a few fights ago he was fighting at English title level so you can't really blame Matchroom if they have him fight a few eliminators against average opponents to improve his ranking in low risk fights while building Josh's fan base in Leeds.

I don't think he's saying put him in with Walters...just someone who is not completely risk free. He won't learn anything from this fight

Alex Miskirtchian who went 12 and lost a UD to Gradovich in his last fight is the challenger for Warringtons European. Could help look into what will happen when he inevitably fights Selby in a stadium fight in Leeds when their profiles are big enough.

But if they are going the eliminator etc route then this fight is perfect for Warrington and Hearn.

I just think at this stage of his career, an eliminator is pointless and jumping the gun. Same with Callum Smith. Just fight good opponents and develop the fighters. People say he was only fighting at English level last year. Why have an eliminator for a World title then?

It helps sell the show and the fight it self will improve his world ranking even if their were fights at a.lower level which cud hav been tougher tests ( risk and reward). Hearn will b looking for him to improve his ko percentage and sell out the arena. With how his fan base is growing hearn will milk it for a while then make the selby fight if selby a world champ or target another champ and make a possible unification fight.
