    Both him and manny are not clean, at that level... I'm pretty sure no one is. It's the nature of the sport or business.

    What do you all think of this?

    Mayweather wants the May 2nd date, obviously. He isn't going to move from it. So, most are debating which fight will happen: Cotto/Mayweather? But... is that even realistic?

    Let me explain;

    Mayweather and Cotto will need 2 months for training camp. This means they'll only have 3/4 weeks (presuming it is announced on Feb 1) of a promotional tour. That...is really, really short. So, Mayweather would have put on the biggest tour of his life, ridiculously so, to be able to promote it enough in just 1 month.

    But not only would he have to promote it, he would have to convince the fans. The boxing and casual fans will be p*****. Extremely angry. So, not only is he going to have to promote it in the shortest amount of time he's ever done, at the largest scale he's ever done, but ALSO convince the fans that this fight is worth to watch over a Pacquiao fight.

    On the other hand, he's been convincing fans the fight with Pacquiao will happen ON MAY 2ND since early December. Even a couple days ago, he was interviewed and said, "We're going to make it happen, we are in negotiations, hopefully we'll see Mayweather/Pacquiao may 2nd..." So, he's STILL exciting fans, and if he was in negotiations with Cotto... wouldn't it have been a better idea to have started backing out rather than hyping the Pacquiao fight up? I mean... verbatim he said, "WE ARE GOING TO GET IT DONE." Even after complaining how it was difficult with Arum and Top Rank, he still said REGARDLESS, WE ARE GOING TO GET IT DONE. So, he wasn't using Arum as a way to backtrack because he affirmed the fight in the following sentence like saying, "I'm suffering through this for you guys, I'm the good guy, Arum is making this hard but I'm still going to get it done for you!" So, actually, it looked as if he's trying to make you feel pity for him and feel he is the good guy in this situation because he's trying really, really hard! That's the good guy persona he's been trying to put on since the Showtime Interview. He's suffering for us and still going to get it done! Wow, what a good guy, what a champ :') (insert sarcasm).

    Regardless, saying "WE'RE GOING TO GET IT DONE" a few days ago are some strong words to use regarding Pacquiao if Floyd is soon going to announce Cotto. By doing that, he gets fans more excited causing the damage of fighting Cotto even more. To me, that's stupid, and he doesn't strike me as someone who's stupid.

    Furthermore, this is a rematch that isn't even being asked for. The first fight was one-sided, so trying to sell this fight in 1 month is going to be next to impossible. Why? Because of the reasons I mentioned:

    1) Unwanted rematch
    2) Little promotional time
    3) Angry fans

    Each reason is strong, and just ONE of those reasons could put a dampen on PPV numbers... but it's not just one. It's all THREE!!! It's a recipe for disaster! Is the fight possible? Yes, but plausible? Absolutely not!

    Then we look at Mayweather/Pacquiao. Pacquiao is the only fight that could be promoted in one month. As Arum said, "We won't need to go to the media because they'll come to us." Honestly, the wouldn't really have to promote it. It's been being promoted for the past 6 years.

    Cotto? Considering fans won't want to see it and mad that they aren't getting Pacquiao... promote that in a few weeks? He'll be lucky to break 800,000!

    So, let's say he's going to go with it. Cool. Good luck. Now, shouldn't he be walking towards the exit when it comes to Pacquiao negotiations? Yeah...but he's not. Instead, they are still going full speed ahead. How do we know? Because of what Floyd said a few days ago and I showed that quote above. Then, Espinoza said a couple days ago that all that needs to be done is the Showtime, HBO deal...and said, "Those issues are being resolved now." Not "They NEED to be resolved," he said THEY ARE being resolved.

    Why would someone close to Mayweather's side continue to say positive remarks about the Pacquiao fight if they're closing in a Cotto deal. By doing this they are only HURTING THE COTTO FIGHT!!! And with as little promotional time they have, they need to NOT be doing that!

    I could go on, but I'll stop here. I'm sorry but the Cotto fight doesn't seem plausible. Too little promotional time, angry fans, and how it's unwanted create a recipe for disaster. And, they would have to be idiots to not know that... but I'm sure they do. Which is why they are continuing full speed ahead with these Pacquiao negotiations and finishing them up.
