Hope it works for Frampton and he benefits from the exposure.

That said, ITV have shown in recent years that they don't have a real commitment to boxing. Even if they signed up to show a few fights, they would probably just drop the sport the second they could get some new football rights or whatever. Although on the other side, I doubt Cyclone Promotions would show any loyalty to ITV either. The second Sky Sports offered them a proper deal without having to go through Eddie...

    Tania at it again.

You have got to take your head out of arris and smell the shyte.

Sky are ripping off Sky Sports Subscribers who have already paid a high monthly subscription charge to watch the BEST of multi sport action including boxing.

You will then argue - 'how are the fights going to be paid?'

I say - top sportsmen earn far too much including the top boxers. For example Froch and Groves were both grossly overpaid for that one punch borefest.

Wembley Stadium was full so no need at all for PPV except for greed on the part of the boxers.

If the boxers don't want to fight for more modest sums then **** them. Froch v Groves 2 was shyte and Bellend v Clev was shyte.

PPV dies if nobody buys :deal

There's a massive opportunity to get boxing back on terrestrial reguarly, but as others have said this is just a dip a toe in the water for ITV at the moment.

Big test will be how heavily they promote this on the Champs League and Europa League games they're televising in Feb. That's pretty much the only male focused programming they have on ITV1 and if they don't use that to push the Frampton fight then they're not really taking it seriously.

Got to laugh at those who slagged McGuigan off for taking Frampton away from Hearn... he's delivered for his boy.
