Bradley x2 Marquez x4 Barrera x2 Morales x3 Hatton Rios De la Hoya Margarito Algieri Clottey Diaz Cotto Solis Larios Mosley Velazquez Considering the majority of these where he was coming up in weight and fighting champions in most fights how many runs in history compare to this sequence ?
Mayweather would be on there aswell if he would take the fight.what floyd doesn't get or does get but doesn't like the fight no matter what is that a loss doesn't make u a bad fighter, manny lost some of those fights but the way he come back made him greater.there are other very good fighters like ledwaba who he's beaten but when u consider he's fought that list of fighters on the bounce its some going
well when you put it like that.. An insane list or perhaps incredible is a better word. I´d remove de la hoya though, purely there by name, and was a walking corpse in the ring. To me - removing de la hoya - would make it better. I give absolutely no credit for such fights, i actually despise them. His rise from the lower weights, are they matched by others in history? I dont buy into thr 8 div champ, theres a difference between titleist and champ, but his journey must be historical in some sense? i dont bother with records as such, but i imagine theres others who could fill in the blanks.. Always hated him for humiliating barrera, but i have to admit, that he is a terrific fighter and he brought some of the absolute best outta fighters like marquez and morales, resulting in great great fights - easpecially the marques rivalry. Perhaps the best rivalry since the fab four. Cant think of any better,at the top of my head, so yeah, im down for calling their rivalry the best for a long long time.
De la Hoya wasn't at his best but not many gave him a hope before the fight,in fact odlh was getting slagged off for picking on pac,so just the ***** to take the fight deserves credit.when put into context how great morales and Barrera where alone and what he did to them, taking fights on that floyd refused to take on and anihilating them even tho he was dwarfed by them,he will be looked on a lot greater in tears to come the same way Duran Leonard and co are
As for titleist or champ,I agree in most cases,if a fighter is not the best in a division and avoids the best but I think it's safe to say pac was the best in each division when he left it but went up for bigger fights
what makes it more special is that list is incredible for the natural ww let alone a former flyweight just mind blowing
