I don't think he clearly won the Martinez fight. Was a close fight up for grabs and he let the injured old champ take the championship rounds from him. Fight was there to be won and he didn't sieze it.

But I do agree, this fight is not a foregone conclusion and it wouldn't surprise me if Golovkin enters the championship rounds for the first time in a long time (ouma?) in this one.

Its funny the first time I saw Murray vs Martinez I thought Murray waited too long to come out of his shell and won the late rounds but fell just short though i scored it by a pt to him live

on rewatch i think murray could have gotten other rounds where martinez landed on gloves and murray had some decent connects

totally agree with others saying murray got a gift in sturms back yard

There's as much case for Khomitsky taking Murray's imaginary lineal title. If you're going to nudge the Sturm and Martinez decisions his way you can just as easily say Khomitsky deserved the nod in their rematch. :D

And that leads me to my REAL question here: why is GGG ducking the true, lineal MW champion Sergei Khomitsky, and fighting his leftovers instead?:think:hat

He already pummeled Khomitsky when he was a 7 fight novice. No need for a rematch.

Sergio dominated **** in that fight. I'm a big ***y Sergio fan but it was Murrey fight Sergio almost never managed to hit him clean his high guard defense and pressure confused him.

I don't know GGG has the style to get under this high guard and unleash hell. Hard fought mid round KO from body shot. GGG gets nailed a couple of times coming in.

Agree he was robbed against the wildly overrated Maravilla. But am expecting GGG to dominate and dismantle him.

No Murray didn't beat strum, sturm beat him Murray was hurt several times during that fight. Murray is overrated if u look at his last couple of performances he's looked ****, spada was beating him up and the fight got stopped prematurely, khometski got robbed, he's a euro level fighter who fought a past his prime Martinez and I still had Sergio winning that fight. Golovkin will destroy him in 3 rounds. GGG's last 5 opponents would beat Murray I think rosado would best him. Murray is nothing

Sturm was robbed against Murray. Some call it poetic justice for the Macklin robbery.
