Yeah but Wilder dont know the word clinch, and without properly using of the clinch you going to lose against guys like Tyson or Povetkin.

 

I havent read anywhere that Wilder has ducked anyone..He has had the belt for two weeks and is getting thrashed already.....Come on, give the man a break.

It was a Russian source I believe, a Russian boxing website. I don't doubt it though to be honest, Povetkin-Wlad purse bid was $23m and that was Povetkin's side money.

No, I know those Russian will pay. I meant that no one other than the Russians will get Wilder that kind of pay day. I don't see him getting that kind of money in Britain or the US against Fury. I'm not sure if Klitschko will get him that kind of money either. 10 million is a ****-ton of money.

 

Did anyone not see this coming? Most HW contenders just want to pick up a paper belt and milk it for as long as possible fighting bums.

 

I don't like how Wilder has become champion. I think it's fraudulent that he received a title shot based on his body of work. However until his first defense is announced we can't accuse him of ducking anyone yet. Povetkin was ordered to face Mike Perez to determine the mandatory. However I believe Perez is undecided on that fight. If he passes I would assume Povetkin would become mandatory by default. Wilder will probably have to face him within 12 months or be stripped.

Minor or meaningless, paper or plastic, he was a TITLIST. And he won that title vs tough a tough opponent in Chagaev, and defended it vs credible opposition in Huck and Boswell and Wawrzyk.
