I know that Pharaoh, but would Calzaghe get credit for taking this option? It would fill a stadium in Cardiff and Joe has gone on record as saying that he'll fight "whoever offers the most money".
Dont know what Froch has done to warrant being made a mandatory challenger. Which other contenders has he beaten. No-one.
He has been incredibly loyal to the WBC... :yep Inkin has pulled out twice, that can't go on forever.
It won't happen, Calzaghe will have one more fight and that will be in Cardiff in November. It will probably be Roy Jones but it could be Pavlik depending on how the gets on in june. It won't be against Froch! Froch is decent but he's not a marquee opponent that Joe wants for his last fight.
I had read from a pretty realiable poster when it comes to this subject, that Calz will just give up the 168 WBC belt and that would make Froch #1 and due to Inkin's pulling out, Kessler # 2 to battle for the vacant title.
You can't exactly blame Kessler for declining other fights for a box off for the WBC. Puts him right back as the main man at SMW without doing much.
You're right. And against Froch which should be pretty easy for him. I only held some disdain because I really wanted to see him in there with Miranda, myself.
