never thought of that fight but great match up! toss up imo. if had to pick i think bowe gets him late in a war!

 

There are degrees to greatness and Holmes is a top five HW easily. He was a special fighter that would have made even a prime Bowe appear mediocre with his jab, iron jaw, speed, and mobility.

 

Bowe, in his prime, would have knocked Holmes out!

 

Larry Holmes would have jabbed the **** out of Bowe. Bowe's defense was not great, He would have eaten a whole lot of jabs. Not sure if he sees the 15th.

 

Bowe had a really good jab, had more power than Holmes also. Spinks beat Holmes...............Eddie Futch did a great job training Bowe..................

You must not confuse legacy and head to head. I think this matchup is as even as it could get. This could end up in a draw.

Prime Larry is the slightly better boxer. Bowe has more power and the better inside fighter. Would have been a fight of the year in my view.

 

Larry would be staying on the outside jabbing and moving.

 

Larry Holmes far better speed of hand and foot and more durable than Bowe. Larry UD
