Lads, I've been hearing a fair bit about SK promotions & was wondering if anyone can tell me a little more about them. I'm based up in Faslane so pretty much up here 365 , just wondering if anyone knows anything about the shows they put on , Cheers.
Good outfit who have a first class facility in glasgow city centre ,started off mostly dinner shows but very well run and puts on a first class display , Few lads have turned pro under SK Garry Murray and Marc Kerr who has signed with MGM Marbella , There training base in glasgow has now joined up with MGM and it will be there uk base called MGM Glasgow , could be good for scottish boxing as they could maybe start promoting shows up here , Could be further signings from MGM as im hearing Brophy and Simmons have parted company with Alex Morrisson of late
Cheers pal, so the MGM Glasgow & sk & the same? I'm going to have a look this week I'm thinking, seen the gym is on the southside so not too long a journey. I've boxed on a few of the EBF shows down in England & they're quite cow boy, opponents changing an hour before 1st bell & replaced by kids with a good 8 or so kg on me, don't fancy being a part of that tbh
Think its a merger where both will share the gym mate , Sam Kynock who owns the place is a cracking guy and a very smart cookie, runs a tight ship so if you fancied a crack at a decent level hed be your best bet , the gym is in portman street just off paisley road west along from harry ramsdens etc :good
Cracking that, tbh I'm thinking of giving the white collar stuff a miss, and possibly seeing if I can turn over. I'll need to see how it all pans out though obviously , obviously there's a lot to be covered in that one though. Best I can do is get myself down there & show face and see where it takes me.
Think they have open sparring days on Wednesdays Saturdays and Sundays mate , my brother boxes for them and seems to enjoy it and all decent lads
I train here and box on the shows its a cracking gym and the shows are very well put together. Sparring is Tuesday eveneing and saturday afternoon but the gym is open everyday with classes on and open training.
Visited the gym on its opening day mate Sam certainly bought the best of kit and will only get better with guys moving onto the pro ranks and teaming up with MGM :good
SB - how many tend to get along? I'll defo be coming along & see where it takes me... Aah excited now haha!
