Dug myself a hole.:roflIf leg muscles and arm muscles are the same then why do i or anyone in history, leg press, squat, 10 times what i shoulder press or curl? That's quite a difference wouldn't you say? Same can be said of any lifting comparison between the two groups. Obviously most are compound but the fulcrum is going through those muscles. show me someone who has stronger arms than legs. Anyone who can do a lift that is even a third of what they leg press. A punch is a very technical movement requiring interaction and synergy between various muscles. it is nothing like running. It's a well known fact that more power can be put through your legs. A lot more power. You have made the major mistake of thinking throwing a punch is like doing a bench press.

Are you saying that Joe gets in the ring and purposely pulls his punches.

Not punching correctly can be more damaging to the hands as well by the way.

I have seen all of his fights, he was never an above average puncher. His technique used to be crisper but he still had a tendancy to turn the wrist and smother.

Sven Ottke was 34-0 with 21 title defences and also unified his title.

Yet people mock his power ALL the time... So what kind of boxer do you rate him?

Granted, he did have only 6 KOs. :D

If it's not effective in fighting, why is it so many HW's were using in the 90's?

Look, you're the only one with a fixation about bench presses.

The muscles of the leg are bigger than those of the arm and upper torso and so can deliver more power. This does not change the fact that both arm and leg muscles react the same to the presence of androgens.

I'll ask the question one more time.... what boxer would not benefit from being able to train more frequently and with higher intensity? That is how steroids can improve a boxer. If you cant see that you are a ******.

Damn, you are simply a sore loser or a complete tool.

    a) If he couldn't beat a prime Hopkins or RJJ, he still couldn't be great? They are ATGs.

    b) You said to someone else that apparently he wasn't around when JC did his defences - were you, as in "have you even seen much of him"?

    c) Calzaghe had a bit more trouble with Hopkins, because Hopkins didn't want to box with him. A prime Hopkins would have been more willing, and would probably been Ko'd or very probably been outboxed throughout.

    d) Came along at the right time? You won't even give the man credit whatsoever for his accomplishments.

    e) You rate his technique as awful, and him as an average boxer - yet he beat Hopkins at about the same age as Bernard beat - Tarver and Wright, and went close with Taylor twice(deserved first fight). What does that say about Tarver, Wright, Taylor, DLH, Tito and RJJ for that matter?

This i already stated. To me you will always be the little ***** who thought that all the muscles in the body were directly comparable. There are benefits but they pale in comparison to the sport you alluded to.
