I was actually disappointed by this fight when watching it live on Ppv I expected a war and a KO It was a much more tense fight than I had imagined Maybe I set the bar too high I felt it was a very close fight as Lucas appeared to push the pace I didn't think he was getting boxed as badly as the SHO crew was going on about
The fight was only close because Lucas couldnt see to block the lefts for 4-5 rds and the reason I call it luck was because the eye injury wasent even from a punch!! 114-112 on two judges cards add to that a controverial KD in a round Matthysse was clearly winning = Garcia wouldn't have won :deal
Pretty sure there was a rematch clause for the Morales fight. Garcia v Matthysse was a mandatory. Still funny to me that Danny acts like he did the fans a favor by fighting his mandatory.
Matthysse's only chance to get the rematch is to chase him all the way to 147 and God forbid Garcia doesn't lose until then which is very possible
If Haymon was able to pull off Rod Salka I'm pretty sure he could have gotten him out of that rematch :rofl
