Just going off what's on boxrec - singleton holds the WBC int silver. Has done for a while & the actual wbc international is tied up already. So it is a defence for singleton - unless something else is added. Yep no denying it's a massive opportunity to showcase they're talents & impress - and as a result the pay will be increased accordingly. But I'd imagine it will be made an eliminator for the British at the least
Likely another British eliminator I suppose, I thought you meant another title other than the WBC Int. Silver.
Yeh tbh I thought there would be something else up for grabs, and wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being... Hate to say this lads, but people are talking about Sam eggington - Frankish Gavin, when there's nothing to say Sam beats Shane yet. Shane is no walk over, ask curt woodhouse ( regardless of pols opinion of the scoring, he got the result, but more importantly (from a neutral point of view - woodhouse hit him with everything & singleton went nowhere - fought 8 rds with a broken hand too)
I can see Sam stopping shayne, Shaynes record very padded and has struggled in some of his fights against lesser foes.
His record is padded - however, there's no denying the kid can move around. Tidy little boxer & he's rapid - believe me on that. As long as singleton stays away from a war I'd tip him to win, he's come on leaps and bounds in his last few too - picking up a few needed stoppages , not just that he's looking as though he's filled into the weight well & has some venom into his game.
They must think Gethin is really past it to be risking Coyle against him. Unless he's slipped a mile he should beat Coyle surely, no?
A gethin win wudn't surprise me at all. Coyles record is padded and people r getting carried away with the katisdis performance. Coyle has been built up for the luke Campbell fight nothing else.
we need to put to bed this fallacy that taking good, competitive fights is bad for a fighter's career. by this logic, degale wouldn't be fighting for a world title.
Understand what your saying & agree with it. However, that's the way it is - a loss on domestic level does tend to at least derail a fighters route to the top, if not stop it all together.
i'm not sure. if you're good enough you'll make it. there's a finite number of active boxers in any division after all. a loss to another good fighter doesn't make you bad and those in the business know it. look at skeete, ok he did well enough to have been given the win, but his career ain't over after his loss. chisora has the much better resumé between the 2 since he 1st lost to fury. i reckon the argument is overstated because it's a convenient excuse, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny, unless you're a hypejob fraud anyway!
