I know some of you guys on here are from the Texas area last night natural 147lb fighter Carson Jones stopped Brian Rose in the UK,1st round at light-middleweight.

It was a controversial stoppage many foreign fighters could say the same when fighting on UK shores recently.Certainly early imo.

Getting beyond that I would like you guys to view it on you tube and observe the the tale of fighting to your opponents strength.Jones has decent power at WW and imo was only going to 'throw the kitchen sink' as we say here.Rose with weight, reach, height and hometown advantage fought the opponents fight. In the brief action that took place.

Over here it was viewed as great match making Jones a name fighter here put in a great effort against Kell Brook 1st time out at 147lb.

Fight your fight by doing what your opponent least's want you to do,fight to your strengths not to theirs.

..Dempsey..Saucedo vs. Flores....why would Flores and his team want to come all the way to the U .S...and acept a fight against Saucedo?..when its pretty easy to see Saucedo is much better fighter..and that would be hurting Flores record with another loss..is it for the $?..or that they thought they had a chance?..better exposure?..one lucky punch?....help me understand this one.. :huh thnkx.

For us he was what the doctor ordered, a durable veteran journeyman, who had gone the distance with decent fighters, Erick Bone, 10-0, David Zegarra, 29-0, 19ko's, twice, brad Solomon, 23-0. He had only been stopped 3x, before the Saucedo fight, Diego Chaves, stopped him in 9rds, Wale Omotoso, stopped him in 8, and Egidijus Kavaliauskas, stopped him in 1rd.
This was Saucedo's first 8rdr, this was a "see where you're at" fight.
Flores is an honest fighter, in that he comes to fight, he landed a few good punches, especially a right hand. Alex just broke him down, veterans like Flores look for ways to survive so as not to get stopped, cos it knocks them out of paydays. I believe he now facing a 45-60 days suspension. I knew Flores would go some, and if Saucedo stopped him that would rise his stature.

Over here a fighter stopped gets an automatic 28 suspension.

Guys to build a fighter esp when on TV (Saucedo) you need durable opposition that will not just lie down.

Dempsey (good friend of mine) knows as well that a fighters career is a marathon not a sprint.Don't run before you can walk.

At just 20 years old Saucedo has that massive asset on his side time.

Quality sparring will tell you where you are at,execution of technique and building stamina over the longer fights comes with that.

This was a reasonable opponent, who managed to give Saucedo a slight bruise under his left eye. These are learning fights the mistakes and the things you need to work on, that you see in the fight in order to move to the next stage.
Yes thanks to the S&C guys on this forum, like S-c-r-a-p, virus and dealt with, who slapped me around on a different thread lol. I found a world class IMO S&C guy. The guy is quite and does a terrific job.

you want your fighter to improve on?.does the S&C guy put the fighter through a series of tests to find out where his at?...what makes a S&C coach..a world class trainer? In your opinion...thnks dempsey :bbb ..always felt like somehow i NEED to be involved in this sport..S&C or trainer/manager

..thnx Vanbox/demps..it makes sense ..afterwards they can see the improvements,or certain areas that need improving ..what about nutrition,,at this stage ..is a nutritionist necessary?..(for example with boxer Saucedo),..i imagine no need for nutritionist,or anything fancy..just try to eat healthy (low fat,low sugar,salt..etc)..and plenty of carbs for energy..or is a nutritionist necessary at begining stage of fighting? ...:bbb
