Canelo should've waited, it's beyond obvious that's was the logical thing to do for anyone who thought about fighting on May 2nd, and obvious that's what Cotto doing...absolutely not rocket science.
Cotto ducked Canelo by trying to hore himself up to the highest bidder but things backfired on him and his diva tactics left him with his thumb up his ass and no dance partner. He will be begging Canelo for a fight later in the year, bet on it.
The scenario that Canelo feared is May Pac fighting and then Cotto having a case to make the fight with Canelo for June. I think Canelo absolutely did not want the fight in Cotto's stomping ground and so gave Cotto an offer he had to refuse. I think Canelo would fight Cotto but not in Madison Square, unfortunately we're gonna have the same situation in September, sucks because this is a great fight.
