First of all Murray deserves the utmost respect for his toughness, he definitely went up in my estimation in terms of bravery, determination and resilience.

But lets' be honest here, he took a beating that he didn't have to take and I hope those of you brutes who were at the weigh representing Murray on friday shouting to GGG, ''who are ya'' are proud of yourselves

lets not forget how much respect GGG had for Murray prior to the fight even though murray was the lesser fighter. But that all went out of the window the moment those stupid inbred chants were levelled at GGG.

GGG is a humble and dignified, yet proud man and hearing those taunts helped ensure GGG's mindset changed into making sure Murray received a slow and painful concussive torturing that Isis would have been proud of.

GGG had so much respect for murray he would've been willing to carry Murray through the fight where in a normal scenario he wouldn't be looking like a helpless rag doll tied against the ropes at his mercy. Or he would have ended the fight early like his previous bouts or give him some moments to recover.

Sadly Murray ended up getting tortured.

Remember no previous opponent of GGG has ever had their face reconstructed the way Murray's was.

GGG made sure not to put so much power at the of his shots so as not to end the fight early, but enough to make sure that when Murray returned home, his wife and kids would think it was some poor unfortunate battered and ravaged hobo off the street that had intruded into their home, to seek refuge.

Now sadly murray isn't going to be the same fighter after that kind of beating. That is the kind of beating that ruins fighters long term, physically and mentally

You look at the state of his face and it looks like he was thrown through several brick walls before being piledrilved through the pavement and all because some dumb thugs thought it would be funny to hugely disrespect GGG at the weigh in on friday.

Well you just helped ruin a man's career all because you wanted to be drunken louts and act like billy big knees

I sure hope you are proud and finally know who GGG is, because Murray certainly does after yesterday

I didn't see it as that bad a beatdown? He lost, and lost clearly, but this was no Jeff Lacey-esque one-sided beatdown, nor a Klitchko/Briggs.

I know what you mean, and MM will be sore for weeks, but I'm not so sure this will be the 'ruin' of murray any more than other factors - such as nowhere to go, can he secure another big fight after the loss, age, willingness to drop a level etc

He took a beat down from round 1 to 11 with no respite, the effects will be long term I'm afraid

A 32 year old cannot recover from such a beat down, the body simply doesn't recover as fast.

The punishment he received, means he will never be the same again.

Obviously he murray will be able to compete at domestic level, but his career at elite level is done.

He used up all his punch resistence in the fight. You only have to look at the likes of chisora who is now a shadow of his early days to see what relentless punishment can do to a fighter in the long term.

It's a shame because he seems like a good natured level headed guy but his fanboys let him down badly.

my punch bag doesn't throw back nearly as often as murray was.

he didn't win a round but keeps his place as the world's #2 mw until his next fight imo, unless lee looks amazing v quillin at least.

I guess GGG didnt take too kindly to Murray throwing his arms up earlier in the fight as if to say "is that all you got/ you can't hurt me".

However you need to get something straight - Murray was going to get it no matter what.
Golovkin is one of the few merciless killers in the ring that will hunt for the KO from the beginning of the fight till the end. The fan's chanting had nothing to do with the beating Murray received.

After Murray's comments re Macklin's loss to GGG, it is ironic that Murray received a bigger pumping last night.

Murray had zero threat all night and was a glorified punchbag.

GGG simply at a level that Murray will never match.

Just sounds like you're getting your knickers in a twist over a bog standard "who are ya" chant that you hear at many weigh in's...

Don't kid yourself that this was down to a "who are you" chant at the weight in. It was ALWAYS going to be the case. Of course Murray isn't at his level!! Who is?

I don't think GGG prolonged anything delibrately though. Macklin was out of their in 4 - if he had lasted as long as Murray his beating would have been even worse. Credit Murray for managing to get back up from the two knock downs in the fourth and keep going.

Some of you must think GGG doesn't understand english. Well he does he just doesn't speak fluent english, and he heard what those louts had to say at the way in and used it to his advantage.

GGG didn't even bother with defence he just wanted to pummel Murray to a pulp to prove a point

And shouting 'who are ya'' over and over again is hugely disrespectful to a someone of GGG's pedigree who has now one of the most fearful reputations in boxing.

He no doubt felt he had to protect it, now Murray's career is over. I hope you're proud whoever was there taking part.
