I can't see ITV even bidding for this- the rights fee would be too much for them to recoup in advertising. That's the beauty (love it or loathe it) of PPV- it's a relatively profitable model if the product is of perceived high value to the consumer.
People say few mates round and few beers, it's not like it's 10pm or even 11 it will be 4/5am far too late for casuals.
I think some are underestimating quite how huge the interest in this is gonna be come fight night. It will definitely have loads of casuals staying up to watch it live, if only just to say they did.
Back before the heavyweight title was ruined by Klitschkos it was quite common for casuals to stay up for the fights.
Sky Box Office - Pubs/Casinos will buy the fight and people will buy it and have mates round to watch it ! It doesn't matter that it's four in the morning cause its Sat night/Sun morning !
None of my mates are boxing fans and all have asked what we're doing for this fight. Very high casual interest IMO
I think people are underestimating the casual interest. This is a superfight. Will be billed as one for the ages. This is going to to big worldwide.
I think most casuals will watch. Sky will get this and tbh I think thats a good thing. They do the best shows. With it being a bank holiday weekend it will certainly help with numbers.
Just a thought In regards to what people were saying about doing a uk show earlier in the night to try to justify casual fans buying the ppv, seeing as there is a good show the week before with 2 possibly 3 world title fights on it which you know they'll want to make ppv anyway could they not sell it as a package? like buy Floyd vs many for x amount and get the degale ppv free? or is that completely not possible?
