Mad as a box of frogs. Beat Duran and ran Jones close twice. My favorite memory of him is flattening ITVs golden boy George Collins.

Sadly outside the ring he could never get himself together and last I heard he was living rough and well into his drugs and booze.

Bunce interviewed him a few years ago. Both of them were sitting on a park bench sharing a carry-out; I'm not joking. Does anyone remember that?

He was also on some **** talk show; Trisha or Jeremy Kyle or some other rubbish.

He got arrested for something stupid like dropping litter- the council made an example due to who he was. Poor guy

Yes, I do remember that. Sad to see.

Very entertaining although totally bonkers. His style of holding his arms by his sides and taunting his opponent with jerky feints towards them led to some spectacular knockouts, both for his opponents and him himself.

I remember watching him fight some guy with the nickname of 'The Iceberg'.
Classic Laing, hands by his waist and psyching Iceberg out totally. He whalloped him with a barrage of hooks thrown from the hip around the 4th round and the commentator yelled "The Iceberg has melted!"

I've seen footage of Jones flattening him. Apparently he was boxing Jones ears off but got caught both times with power shots.

Bunce says something like "Did you ever think about giving up the booze" and immediately afterwards takes a massive swig of his beer.

Sounds like typical Bunce; way to set an example.

Remember the documentary, then couple of weeks later heard he'd fallen off a balcony and was seriously ill in hospital - not heard anything since.

    Great boxer tho... great boxer.

My favourite boxer from the past. Saw him box a few times. His fight for the British title against the tough Rocky Kelly is as close to bear baiting as you'll ever see in a boxing ring. Laing was pure genius, but a complete lunatic.

He was recently arrested in his home town of Nottingham for throwing orange peel in the street!!

Really skilled boxer but with a dodgy chin you shouldn't have your hands in your pockets!!!

Remember him pasting a few blokes on one of his comebacks then fighting (was it luishing?) some bloke and leaning back away from his punches only for one to catch him on the chin......lights out.

Could have been and should have been old Kirklaind.....and he sort of was!
