Provodnikov vs Matthysse easily stomps on this fight. Good to know we'll have a great fight of Boxing though, that's for sure. :smoke

I voted Jr UD but i think he should actually KO him. At least a motivated Jr but then again a motivated Jr would not be fighting at 172. Fonfara reminds me of Lee.

True. That dude is always in the gym. I follow him on instagram and the guy is nuts. He knows he could have avoided a handfull of losses if he had worked this hard from the start. The only thing he is lacking is talent.

Hold up some people actually think Chavez jr. stops fonfara?:lol: Freaking stevenson couldn't get fonfara out of there yet a chavez jr. can? LOL Wtf is going on here. I expect fonfara to beat chavez jr.

Chavez jr. will not have the size advantage for once.

Think the consensus is that Stevenson, outside of a very sharp and heavy (and predictable) straight left just is not that good. Chavez is less vulnerable - far less chinny - than Stevenson.

I am split on this matchup right now, but I see where they are coming from. Sort of like Chavez-Lee part 2 at 172 pounds.

I assume you're talking about me, well I also said Fonfara would trouble Stevenson maybe get a KO and he almost did, but the reality is Adonis still won on points easily, Campillo was winning on points against Fonfara until he got KO'd by him, Fonfara didn't look that great against Ngumbo who he should have KO'd. I like Fonfara but he's very inconsistent with his performances. Adonis is overrated if you can take his power and take away his one weapon then you a have a pretty good chance of beating him.

But Chavez is a vicious body puncher and he works the body incessantly, Fonfara isn't hard to hit, Julio will break him down and stop him in a matter similar to what he did to Lee like Xelloss said. styles make fights and this is a terrible style match up for Fonfara not Chavez. There's a reason why Julio wants to fight Fonfara.:deal

Fonfara could give Chavez some real problems................Chavez backed out of a fight with the small Golovkin................

could argue otherwise. what Fonfara has,is superb stamina.
wonder what conditioning and stamina Chavez got left after 1 year inactivity.and that might affect his stamina. Fonfara is massive pressure fighter, often on front foot, better have good stamina when fighting him..
campillo, stevenson, glen johnson ,all gassed out when they were fighting Fonfara.tho stevenson recovered well.
all depends on what Chaves been doing in last 12 months...if he wasted it in burger king then he might have problems..
Chavez will be favorite ,its no doubt, hes expected to win it.

I wouldn't call Fonfara a massive pressure fighter, if that term applies to anyone its Junior.
And he didn't really pressure Campillo, Gabriel was winning almost every round before he tagged Campillo with a good shot just like he did with Adonis and Campillo seemed pretty demoralized and IMO just quit.
