Even though Tyson Fury is looking much more poise recently I don't think he had the same competition that Hughie had at this stage against Rudenko. Does Hughie have the potential to become the better boxer?

Too early know what his ceiling is... Let's not compare his potential to ATG'S yet.

I'm sure Hughie can become an ATG also lol

In all seriousness though Hughie could be the faster version of Tyson but not as versatile time will tell

I certainly hope you mean "better than his cousin" and not better than Kid Dynamite. :bart

    ...in which case, yeah, probably.

Hughie might already be his cousin's superior in every department except power.

You warming up to Hughie a bit? I remember around this time last year you didn't rate him at all. Kid's got some skills, and great potential even if some go overboard with how great they claim he might be.

I have always thought his upside was greater than his cousin's. I just really can't stand that other fat bastid and think he's bad for the sport, probably shouldn't let that color my judgment of Hughie as much as it maybe does. :yep

I guess you either love, or hate Tyson... There's no in between.

Why do you think hes bad for the sport?

    Hes very entertaining.

Would be a bigger hit with the fans than Wlad.

He's boring in the ring but exciting on the mic. Wlad at least has the whole brutally knocking guys out thing going for him.

I don't find his schtick entertaining, but contrived and lame.

In terms of fitness, he is a disgrace for a pro athlete with championship aspirations. Though not quite Chauncy Welliver bad, he's still a disgrace.

His " boxing skills" are laughable. He showboats and plays cutie-pie against foes who are some combination of small/old/slow/plodding and made to order for him. Never has Fury exhibited these so-called boxing skills against one near prime natural heavyweight possessing world class speed & skill of their own. Not once.

He is appallingly arrogant and has precious little reason to be, and his standing in the division is nearly as manufactured and illusory as Wilder's.

I agree I wish he'd go back to his old way of fighting, the new slick Fury ain't working for me.

Sometimes he seems not so great and other times he looks like a white Larry Holmes. No offense to heavyweights, but he has tons of potential.

To answer the question Hughie probably won't surpass Tyson.
