I think otherwise His size advantage combined with his ability to move well makes it and interesting match imo Plus most importantly, Fury has a pretty good inside game Wlad has no inside game whatsoever If Fury can have success in the clinch he could very well pull it off by smothering Wlad
Yeah great fighters can't have embarrassing losses early on in their great, actually there have been plenty... In recent years Wlad, and Pac come to mind. Two ATG fighters with embarrassing losses early on in their respective careers.
Prime vs prime I wouldn't bet my money on wlad there's a reason wlad kept getting vitali to seek revenge for him :deal
Yeah I mean anything can happen but I really feel that Wlad would have busted up Vitali badly for a late stoppage if they were both at their best
Wlad has an easier time with taller opponents. Wach, Thompson X2, Austin, McCline, Jefferson, Pianeta etc. All 6'5+
Wlad has three legit losses vitali has one against a guy He was winning against before the injury Based off that I think vitali is better also Chris Byrd is on record saying vitali is better :deal
Yeah but those guys weren't very good Plus, Thompson gave Wlad problems the first time around But I'm not suggesting that being big alone allows one to beat Wlad but that Fury is big and can move
I don't see how Fury troubles Wlad though.. Size won't be a factor, and skill wise Wlad is levels above him.. He also don't have the kind of fight stopping power needed to trouble Wlad. I like the kid, but Wlad is the best of his era, he's hasn't lost in 10 years for a reason.
I think it comes down to range Fury could potentially stay out of Wlad's range by jabbing since he has a reach advantage This keeps him out of the way of Wlad's jab and he can better step back and avoid the straight right hand Furthermore, the left hook will not be a factor. If he gets in close and smothers Wlad, assuming he is strong enough to hold his own, he can avoid Wlads best punches completely and do good work of his own. Of course, there is always the possibility that Wlad lands one of those monster shots and just ends it Hell that might even be the likely outcome, but its still a fight I want to see
Wlad's fought guys bigger than him with equal or greater range. Pulev was only an inch shorter in reach, and Wlad dominated and knocked him out. Wach was taller than Wlad, and had a longer reach, and Wlad dominated him.
Wach is several levels below Fury Pulev still had a shorter reach and Fury will have a longer reach by a decent amount
