Would the prime McCline of the Klitschko/Briggs/Whitaker fight be even money with the current Fury of the Hammer/Chisora/Cunningham fight? Just curious what people think. I actually think he would be.
Briggs or Whitaker aren't really so much better boxers than Chisora or Cunningham, and Fury hasn't fought Wlad yet.
That's kind of my point. Isn't Fury about the same level as McCline was then with some similar levels of wins if not having Briggs be the best between them both? I think Fury is a good fighter. Beyond me why people think he's the guy to make it interesting for Wlad but good like a McCline was. Similarly sized too. I don't know. I don't get it. I still think Pulev and Povetkin>Fury and Fury=Jennings=Wilder=Perez.
Prime McCline is pretty underrated. Beat Briggs, Grant, Whitaker, arguably robbed by Byrd etc. At this point I don't see why McCline wouldn't be favored, but Fury is still improving, and could go on to achieve more. We'll see. almost forgot.... Even in defeat, and way past his prime McCline was still though... Floored Peter x3, Mago, Brock etc. Fury would probably be in for rough night.
Tyson Fury is the most talented Heavyweight in the last 19 years actually. Wlad Klitschko debuted in 1996 Fury is the best Heavyweight to debut since then to be honest
McCline dropped Byrd and Peter multiple times and was a handful for several other guys Fury would be tested but if he is for real I think like the others he gathers himself and takes over when McCline inevitably tires McCline seemed to fight with just his pure physical strength not great technique but really put his body into the punches but this caused him to tire because he exerted so much energy Fury might even hit the deck
I actually remember him kicking the ass of a lot of big dudes. He had trouble with smaller guys like Brock and Byrd. Note: I had him beating Byrd. Would have loved to see a prime Sam Peter against Fury.
