That is true. Hatton was always going to lunge in face-first and get punished. That much of his style wasn't ever going to change no matter who's coaching him.

Again, that's just in-fight advice (which Mayweather really doesn't need)

Most fans overestimate the value of that aspect of the chief 2nd's role.

Personally I think Roger seems to be a much more calming influence right through the camps and during fights plus he doesn't have the oversized ego of Floyd Snr. A good camp can only really accommodate one big ego and that should be the fighter's for me. Plus there always seems to be that little bit of tension between Jr and Snr that I can't imagine being a good thing to have during training camp.

But that's just my two cents from the outside, who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

If things get stressful, is that past history of flare-ups really going to be the most beneficial thing for PBF, instead of Roger's laid-back nature which has proven simpatico with Floyd Jr.'s in-fight temperament?

Even if they don't, Floyd Sr. could end up sucking all the air from the room, feeling the HBO & Showtime cameras on him and dropping poems inappropriately, agitating his son.

I can really see Floyd snr and Floyd really getting into a big rift when things don't go there way in a fight ......they don't really get along to begin with

Agreed plus I think when Floyd Jr is letting his own ego run a little wild it just seems that Roger is able to be the one who gets it all back on track and running smoothly - because he only really gives a flying about boxing and not the nonsense surrounding it. The same can't be said for Snr who lives to be the centre of attention just like his son...

No he doesn't and that is his biggest problem. Sr. sees this fight as him vs. Roach not Floyd vs. Manny. That is very bad for Jr. Sr. is already filling his head with a bunch of **** that isn't true. It's the same with Ariza. Too many egos in floyd's camp who think that this fight is about them and not Floyd.

He's been taking considerably less punishment in the ring with his father around. Being more defensively sound in the last few fights.

For long term health, I reckon SR is the better choice.

I do think against Pac, Roger is better. Floyd has to go a bit more offensive here.
