You gotta remember though that his peers were good heavyweight boxers who for the most part were all very big strong men and Foreman made a lot of them look weak Peralta was a skilled experienced boxer and used that to do well against Foreman. Foreman's was still too much for him to win a decision. Lyle was a very powerful specimen himself, Foreman looked awful technically in that fight, displaying practically no defense and swinging wild looping punches but still was able to use his brute force to win. I can't think of any other fighter who could fight such an open wild come forward kinda fight against Lyle and still win aside from George. The shoving that you mentioned was one the things that showed how much of a force of nature Foreman was. In his prime he'd often push big heavyweights off their feet, I can't think of any other heavyweight being able to do this.....

Overall I don't think either McCall or Rahman were anywhere near as strong as big George. They might be able to lift as much or more weight, or in McCall's case be as solid but neither had the raw power over Foreman. Foreman must have been born with thick bones or something because the guy was just flat out powerful, often especially in his second career it looked like he was just touching guys but would rock them. Lewis is a different animal but a very impressive specimen himself, he wasn't as solid as George and didn't have quite as much power though comparable especially in his right hand but he had more athleticism.... Both guys were very special in their own way and almost unstoppable when on top of their game....

He might well have been exceptionally strong, and a natural puncher, but to claim what you have above is bordering on the ridiculous.

I'd much rather accept Dundee's observation that Clay / Ali could have been anything he chose ie: a tennis player, basketball player, footballer, baseball player, as opposed to merely a fighter.

I don't see that applying to the slow as molasses Foreman.
