I think Kovalev is a hall of fame bound light heavyweight. Last night he took out a very tough Pascal in his backyard and had to deal with a hostile crowd and some low blows from Pascal. But above all else he proved he had a solid chin, which was his only major unanswered question. Kovalev would beat on DM. Give it some time. Well see some Kovalev vs the best in division history.
Michalczewski was a bad guy for a few years there when he bullied Virgil Hill and mauled guys like Nicky Piper, but Kovalev is a genuinely awesome puncher. Dariusz liked to attack, which against Kovalev would have invited disaster. Sergey in about 10 tough rounds.
hard to say right now Dariusz has that Jab that could stop you in your tracks and a good run (Too bad he didn't get a fight with Roy many feel he would have won) I know a guy that sparred with him and said his power was scary. Kovalev has a lot of power and punches many ways, Pascal had a solid chin but took some scary punches and was seriously hurt before the last of the rd before he was stopped.....How they thought it was a quick stop I dont know I am thinking Dariusz was better than the way he went out and Kovalev has a few more years and tests to see the whole picture. I suspect Dariusz/Kov fight would have been a war with expectations greater than last nights fight.
