Froch's frame is perfectly fit for LHW http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/06/07/article-0-094AA1EB000005DC-809_306x461.jpg He's just used to abuse his frame against little dudes in SMW for over a decade, that's why he hesitates to move up. That's it.
One fighter comes in around 170-172 on fight night the other almost 190. If that isn't a big difference idk what is.
There's a huge size advantage going towards Kovalev unless Froch slowly built himself up into being a big LHW. Frochs physicality plays a lot into his fights and with giving up a 20 pound weight advantage it would lead to him getting destroyed. 20 pounds is a huge difference that's why we have weight divisions. If you look at GGG he has come in both his last fights around 172-174 and he competes at 160 but he would still want a catchweight for Ward even though he fights at SMW . Because Ward doesn't come in as a SMW he comes in at LHW. GGGs team obviously doesn't want him coming in as a big LHW.
And this is based on what? Are you in his camp? All weight cutters frequent the sauna and have epson baths. Sergei came in at 174 for Pascal fight, if he was struggling, he would come in at the limit.
Forget Ward-Triple G, both easily beats Froch IMO. Kovalev-Froch would be exciting, I want to see it happen and if it can, it should. If Froch gets the money he wants, let him get killed in the ring for all I care.
When I went to see Froch/Groves 1 live, I was surprised how much smaller than Groves he actually looked in the ring. LHW is definitely a bad choice.
You people need to stop blindly quoting boxrec, which makes mistakes all the time. According to boxrec, Hopkins has a longer reach than Kovalev, but it was clear from the fight (and the weigh-in) that Kovalev has the longer reach.
