More skilled: Roman Gonzalez or Guillermo Rigondeaux?

In their fights I'll see Gonzalez off his game more often then I see Rigondeaux off of his, for whatever that is worth.

 

Roman fights stiffer comp and looks like a master. He can box or brawl.

 

Guillermo Rigondeaux is the most skilled fighter in the sport. He just has shaky whiskers.

 

Proven against a larger array of fighting styles also (in the pros).

 

He often fights to his opponents level.

 

Rigondeaux defensively, Gonzalez offensively.

 

They have different styles, I'd say Rigondeaux has a bit more finnese to his game but Gonzalez is also brutally efficient.

 

Rigondeaux is far the best boxer competing imo

 

How do we rate Gonzalez's defensive capabilities? Like Arguello, he's all about range.

But Gonzalez gets touched a lot. Can't tell if he does it almost on purpose, taking one shot to batter down his opponent with combinations. He's always dominant but always exciting.

 

I've been sleeping on Gonzalez. I'm watching him now and he has that style that I love watching: patient, technical, accurate, etc.

 

I think Gonzalez has a better resume. Yaegashi, Estrada, Takayama, Hirales, and Rodriguez are all very good wins.

Gonzalez does well to roll or deflect a lot of his opponent's incoming, though. I wouldn't say his defence is at all porous. In truth, I think the margin btx defence btx Rigo and Chocolacito is a bit closer than the offensive category, where Roman takes it pretty clearly by virtue of displaying a more varied attack.
