It'll be a much better set up than Benny Ricardo & Amir Khan - a strong candidate for the worst ever commentary team, though Jim is guilty of saturating his voice with catchphrases and, as aforesaid, cheering on a certain fighter. Adam Smith & Paulie Malignaggi would be my pick for the best mix of neutral enthusiasm and technical observations.

Although no boxing expert IMO Ian Darke was the best Sky commentator.

I personally like Jim Watt as a commentator when he isn't being biased.

Does anyone agree with when saying as much *******s as Jim Watt does talk, sky sports fight night wouldn't be the same without him?

Watt's the only man with the necessary passion for the biggest fights. Gets you on the edge of your seat with his screams and hype and high Scotch voice. Feels like he's living every moment. The catchphrases only add to the occasion.

Agree that it'd be better to have a separate scorer though. When he's on form there's no-one better. Compare the Hatton-Mayweather/Pacquiao fights on Sky and HBO. No comparison.

I guess a lot of "hard-core" fans would prefer Bob Mee and Richie Woodhall to provide low key but spot-on technical ****ysis throughout instead.

I say bring Ian Darke back with Jim Watt, spike their drinks with e... guaranteed fight of the century.

Best commentator in the business by far. I'm looking forward to Pacquiao unloading on mayweather and Watt saying "it looks like Pacquiao is going to get this fellow out of there"

What fight did Khan & Ricardo call? :rofl

    Sounds positively dreadful.

Here in the UK they were the commentary duo for Pacquiao-Marquez III. Ricardo's wisdom amounted to citing Manny's twitching calves as being a clue that he was about to throw a punch. When there was a rare exchange near the end of a round he described it as a "phenomenal, phenomenal round!" Sadly, Khan just agreed to all of his overexcited bile.
