Clearly the vast majority of Irish fans have little interest in Kiavanagh or Nevin at this stage. I doubt we'll be hearing much from either of them as pros.Nevin was a great amateur, where he was hand-held all the way in structured , taxpayer-funded programs etc. But having to make your own way in the lonely business of pro boxings a different kettle of fish. He doesn't have the steely mental toughness of a COLLINS or a Frampton or even currently Andy Lee. He would need a really tight team of pro people pushing him, like Carlos has. Even then I doubt he would last. Strikes me as quite a ' Weak' character. Lacks the personal discipline and mental strength and toughness and dedication needed IMO. Just so long as he doesn't end up another tragic case like Darren. That was a dreadful tragedy. Some guys aren't cut out for that life. Nevin is one of those I fear.
You gathered all that about his inner personality for....where exactly? Are you deliberately trolling at this point?
STB...you're alive! Thank you Jesus! Well it didn't take much to work it out Einstein! The facts are there for all to see. (Mind you, ye bean counters don't have a good track record around here when it comes to missing obvious danger signs, do ye, STB? ) Another thing...maybe that leg is more serious than expected. Why isn't he active? He should have stayed amateur.
Saw that Bevin documentary. I thought it was a really good watch and showed a decent insight into how tough a pro career can be and how hard it was for Nevin to come back from injury. He's a brave, tough lad.
If he is to have any hope of making a go of it he needs to team up with an outfit like the McGuigans, a tightly run professional outfit that will keep him on the straight and narrow. Also as I said, he hasn't really come back from the injuries has he? Maybe it's worse than we thought. If JJN was a business, would you invest in it?
Bummer about LSc moving up to 126. If true this is a blatant duck of the guys at 122. Particularly Frampton. Wish the guy no harm, but I hope it backfires on him. Mexican warrior indeed! There's a big difference between the blown up washed up flys and bantams Leo has built his career on, and a live opponent at featherweight. Only the punchless Mares migh suit him. Now Frampton-Quigg has to happen.
Mrs Golovkin doesn't look all that dissimilar to plenty of older Donegal ladies I've met...stocky, swarthy, dark hair etc, so it is plausible....Donegal people are hardy types too, so it all adds up. Would he consider a DNA test?
Booth seemed to be trying to keep him patient and wait for the French guy to come to him which didn't really happen.
Ah, missed the corner advice - that explains it. Ryan looked a bit conflicted, second guessing his instincts like.
Good news for Conlan, the USA knockouts boxer who was in second place lost last night. If Conlan wins tonight he moves into second place overall which would qualify for the olympics.
