At the scene Gary fingerpoints his loss to Loma to his S&C coach...totally overlooking the obvious: Loma schooled him and worked him over with bodyshots.

You have fighters who are mentally affected by losses such as Hatton...then you have guys like GRJ that are delusional and can't admit they got worked.Todays fighters are more mentally fragile IMO because more people buy into this undefeated garbage and people write guys off after one loss.

Yeah, he said he'd beat him 99/100 times as well, like that win for Loma was just a fluke. Pure delusion.

A couple of years ago he was also talking about Gamboa and Donaire and how they weren't "on his level"

Lomachenko made him look like an amateur.

The stupid big-toothed dwarf should try keeping his mouth closed more often and not just to hide those tombstone sized teeth of his which are clearly about 10 sizes too big for his mouth.

He also said he'd never heard of Lomachenko until a couple on months prior to fighting him.

"The first time I'd heard of him was about two months ago," Russell said. "In Beijing, I watched every other event other than boxing."

Russell has finally watched Lomachenko in preparation for their bout, and the fast-talking star of a Maryland boxing family is unimpressed.

"He's still very amateurish," Russell said. "He can't handle pressure. He doesn't have a tremendous amount of punching ability. I think his way of making the transition to a professional is to throw less punches and try to be more accurate, but he doesn't know how to deal with a true professional."

You'd think Loma would have humbled him a little.

You think so. As said, he's utterly delusional though. I hope Gonzalez knocks him spark out.

Here's an interview of him elaborating on why he lost to Loma.

He talked Loma down beforehand, said he was an amateur and wouldn't be able to deal with him because he was a 2 fight novice, and then after getting whooped by him he talked him down some more, writing off the loss as 1 in a 100 fluke

    1:05 :rofl

If he SOMEHOW manages to beat Gonzales tonight, you can rest assured that Abner Mares will be winning back a FW title.:lol:

He can't admit to himself he was just simply outclassed by a better fighter.

Number 1. They seem to genuinely believe the cr*p that comes out of their mouths. I don't actually dislike Quillin even though he's utterly delusional and many others do. Russell I don't like though.

What makes it worse is how he talked Loma down beforehand too. Loma was infinitely more classy when he lost to Salido even though he had ample reason not to be and to feel hard done by. Everytime Loma opens his mouth he comes across very well, Russell just comes across as bitter little poisonous dwarf.

lol Quillin does seem a bit simple. However, I think he's a genuinely likable nice person, even when he's taking absolute b*llocks, whereas I don't find Russell particularly likable at all when he starts running that mouth of his.

Porter belongs in the same class as Russell.
