I decided to make a thread for this instead of replying every clueless fans here,,... I'm just amazed at how people thinks this way,,... Specially when you're pointing out the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight,,... Totally nonsense!! First,,... Why would you use jab on a guy with reach advantage over you,,... A guy with quick feet too,,... Don't you realize that when you throw a jab from a southpaw stance you are trying to hit his off side??? What for??? Second,,... Jabs doesn't really make a lot of difference in a fight between an orthodox and a southpaw,,... Why??? Because they'll just run over the opponent's jab,,... Third,,... When you throw a jab from from a southpaw stance to your opponent in an orthodox stance and orthodox-southpaw,, you're just inviting a counter hook with his off hand,,... Specially when you commit to it,,... Or worse,, a straight punch with his stronger hand,,... To sum it all up,,... Jabs won't win this fight,,... It's either Manny Pacquiao's left hand lead or Mayweather's right straight counter,,... Or the other way around,,... That would be the key to victory,,...
Oscar's jab gave Floyd problems and was winning the fight for Oscar through 7 rounds, but it wasn't until oscar started slowing down and Floyd was able to counter right over top of it that changed the course of that fight. I agree pac is the smaller man and him jabbing will probably just set him up for this even worse. Unless he lures him in with it, throw a lazy jab, get floyd to commit to a counter and throw a straight down the pipe.
So the other way round...so Manny's right straight would be his jab right?....and Floyd's left hand lead...would be his jab too right? Great thread :roflpatsch
The Philly shell is vulnerable to a good jab, orthodox or southpaw.Fact. It's you that sounds clueless. I think we'll see more high guard from him.
