Khomitsky v Etches

Pretty sound business sense if you ask me, put somebody else's fighter in a stiff test, if he wins sign him up, if he loses let them pick up the pieces.

 

Considering he weak level of opposition he'd faced. Etches was doing well in the fight. After the first, feeling out round, I fekt etches was winning. He hurt Khomitsky several times with big heavy right hand bombs.
That said he is limited, Etches. All jab and big right hand to the head. No left hook, no variety, little head movement etc etc....


Do people feel Etches was winning?
Was it a "lucky" punch? Or at least an element if luck to it?
Was it really all that hard of a punch?
Is etches punch resistance questionable?

There are so many questions...so many....

Spot on :good, in fact after round one i ahd a look at my KO bet and smiled as i knew i had a good chance as he was getting hit with the same shot over and over. No head movement at all, terrible defense is his weakness.

 

I was at Sheffield Arena last night and the knockout certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons and silenced the crowd in dramatic fashion.

In my opinion Etches was edging the fight but was getting tagged too easily. Even if the knockout punch hadn't connected I would have thought further big shots from Khomitsky would cause significant problems for Etches.

 

Agree with you mate. Funnily enough I thought Etches showed a good chin in the fight, took some big digs really well, all down to his lack of defence of course.

Hope he can get himself a British title some time.

 

I think the strong thing about Etches, his ticket sales, people in his ear telling him how amazing he is, is his weakness. Hes believed his own hype and hes not watched khomitsy, hes listened to poxon and thought, i can knock anyone out. Poxon has fed him bums and put him in a false sense of security. There is a reason he sent Etches on the euro route and not the British route.


Saying that, i really like Adam, hes a genuine lad who really wants to make it, i wish he stayed with the ingles, but as he said he was way down the attention pecking order there so went back to his old gym which do no favours for him. Id get in with Ryan Rhodes and flourish from there. Rebuild, get the lonsdale belt and move your head!!

 

The Ingles have a history of producing champions. To move from there to an ex-thai boxing coach who has not was a very strange move.

 

In an interview I saw he seemed very well aware about Khomitsky and afterwards he said Khomitsky was exactly like he expected, so I don't think you are right about that.
Also the Sky commentator indicated he'd told them he was showing Khimitsky a lot of respect.
He really didn't do too badly at all ( leaving aside getting kod).
On a round by round basis he certainly did better than Murray and Buglioni IMO.

Looks a decent shot to be fair. Everyone has a weak spot, looks like that hit him clean on it.

Obviously got a bit about him, but needs a few more learning fights. His defence wasn't great at all and he's quite static with his head, that can be worked on.

Lad did well, just made a fairly substantial mistake. I'm sure we'll see him again.

 

Fight was a bit too soon, although I agree like other's I think he was edging the fight and could have gone on to win on points or he maybe could have stopped Khomitsky as he did hurt him a few times.

Lazy jab no head movement = Knockout, good learning fight and Khomitsky carries on beating up the Brit prospects.

 

I had Khomitsky cleary winning the first two and winning the third close, fourth was close before he was KO'd.
