:yep Jesus I thought it was just me that realized this. The very first puncher Khan fights, those deer legs are gonna make an appearance.
There isn't any. A few years back they were talking up Brandon Gonzáles as some american prodigy and then he got his ass handed to him by James Degale of all people. It's all about the mystique with this fraud, and taking the ''too cool for school'' persona pulls the wool over so many people's eyes as to believe he is some ancient teacher who can dispense unknown hidden wisdom to his fighters. As soon as that sand rat faces a puncher, he goes to sleep. Roach done his best with him and let him take risks which did backfire. But no one can say roach didn't improve khan and help him utilise his speed. The lack of discipline was due to khan believing his own hype and wanting to prove to the world that he could take a punch. Ward is another coward fighting selected opposition in the safety of his own home, the moment he steps outside his comfort zone, which hunter is reluctant to do, he will get sonned up to ghetto heaven against the likes of GGG.
I've said it before, and I will say it again, and will keep saying it again. It's amazing how gullible boxing fans are. The only reason Khan has looked good is because he's picking light-hitting southpaws, a combination of the two kinds of fighters he excels against.
It's not about feeling better, it's about exposing a fraud who thinks he can talk down to who ever he wants. Listen to this fck in this interview - He states it makes no sense for his fighters to fight without there being a belt on the line and them being duly compensated when discussing Angulo vs loro. Yet he consistently throws khan in useless fights with no big pays or belts on the line and doesnt have him fight brook who actually has a belt and would generate big revenue. And of course he has Ward only being comfortble fighting in his hometown. All through the interview not once does he look at the interviewer he just arrogantly stares into the distance as if God is talking directly through him. [yt]hkD-sBHdAeU[/yt]
Virgil Hunter may seem arrogant, but he's no poor trainer at all. I think there are others that are more overrated, like Freddie Roach.
That video says it all. Who's more likable and professional than Radio Rahim and this guy just starts being uncooperative, antagonistic and obnoxious for no reason.
"Another thing is," Shaw continued, "so you understand, your promoter asked for 168, not a catchweight." Ward rose from his seat, maybe irked, maybe flustered. His trainer then stepped up, filling the breach. "Can you talk Chad?" Virgil Hunter asked. "You don't talk much. Quit lettin' that man talk for you, man. It go deeper than fighting, man....Speak for yourself, Chad." ''Speak for yourself Chad, this goes deeper then that, deeper then that' ''You ain't no Mandingo Slave Chad, You ain't no Mandingo Slave Chad'' ''You ain't on no plantation no more Chad, quit letting that man speak for you, speak for yourself'' Hmm, now we just went into another realm, I do believe. Hunter, knowingly or not, was looking to inject a seed of doubt into Dawson's head, sow discontent possibly, maybe drive a wedge between him and Shaw. "You a man," Hunter said, while Dawson, now standing, stood face to face with Ward, as lead promoter Dan Goossen loomed next to the fighters, there to be peacemaker if a pre-fight fight broke out. "He speaks in the ring," said Shaw, still sitting, arms crossed, quite comfortable in this milieu. "You ain't no robot, Chad. You ain't no Mandingo slave." Oh yes, we did go into another realm. Hunter indeed did throw, and land, a booming overhand right, words intended to disrupt, to hurt, to seep into Dawson's core. He was accusing of acting like property, and portraying Shaw as the property owner. He went There. "I speak at the press conference, he speaks in the ring," said Shaw, as Hunter kept up his attack. Shaw, to his credit, didn't take the bait, the race bait. "Hopkins tried that, it didn't work," he said, grinning. "Hopkins is fifty years old," Hunter pointed out. (He is 47, 48 in January, but you get the point.)
Anyone listening can understand the questions being posed except Hunter. he's too good to answer basic questions and turns into philosophical psycho babble about reality vs perception, when all Rahim wanted was to get an idea from the man himself on why he feels Angulo should be risking a big fight after coming off a loss to lara. All Hunter fanboys can say is that he has improved khan when khan hasn't even been in the ring with anyone who he hasn't been meant to beat.
atsch A GGGtaard accusing a fighter of selective opposition. Please educate me, who did Ward select?:think Wake me up when that 33 year old hero of yours fights a live opponent the level of Edwin Rodriguez whom ward used as tune up.
