I fear Pac will come to do his macho stuff, and be spent by the mid mark, and get badly punished, maybe stopped later on. Pac needs to come with the mindset of outboxing Floyd, not to run through him. He needs to win rds by applying intelligent pressure, instead of "balz to the walls".
The truth to the matter is Floyd is the naturally more gifted boxer, I don't think Pacquiao can outbox Floyd, I don't think he's good enough of a boxer to do that. Floyd is a better boxer than Marquez, and Pacquiao wasn't able to outbox Marquez. I think the only way Pacquiao can beat Floyd is by putting so much pressure on Floyd that Floyd's defense is now his biggest weakness where Pacquiao just outworks Floyd. Obviously Pacquiao has to be smart with the pressure, otherwise he's going to get countered time and time again, but then on the other hand, Pacquiao can't give Floyd time, because Floyd will pick him apart. It must be a nightmare to think of a gameplan against Mayweather, because the guy is truly a brilliant boxer, but you got to take him out of his comfort zone, make it rough, make him bleed, make him use his defense too much, so you gain the points. Personally, If I was training Pacquiao, I would tell him to keep hitting Mayweather's arms if he has to when he's in the shoulder roll, and give him a dead arm. It might sound stupid, but The judges will still score the points, and you're still doing damage, it's better than hitting the air. Basically I would say hit Floyd wherever you can and make it really tough for Floyd. Make it a painful night. I don't care if you're dirty. Do what you have to do.
That's what I said, he can outwork Floyd, but he isn't going to outbox Floyd IMO, he isn't good enough to do that, IMO no one in that division is good enough to outbox Floyd. You just got to make it rough for him where Floyd uses his defense too much. If Floyd dominates that centre of the ring, then Pacquiao is going to get beaten up. Simple as that. Pacquiao doesn't have the defense, so if he's put on the backfoot, then Floyd could stop him aswell. It's a really intriguing fight because Pacquiao has the style and being a southpaw can cause Floyd problems, and Floyd being the best counter puncher in the world, also has the style and the tools to cause Pacquiao problems.
Pac needs to figure out a strategy on how to conserve energy each rd, and do just about enough to win it. He needs to make PBF wary of his power, and give him feints.
pac cant outwork nor can he outbox the guy is at a huge disadvantage stylistically i don't see him lasting 12 rounds how can he outwork when he lunges in constantly leaving him exposed the counter shots and potshots will neurtilize and have pacquiao into a thinking game he will be a mid range righter in a thinking game with zero defense and a jab punching bag in this fight
Pac is a 12 round fighter, he's not going to gas. But you wont see Clottey or Margarito output ever again.
I agree with you, if Manny punches himself out early trying to get Floyd out of there, he will be used a punching bag for the last half of the fight, just like Mosely was. Manny is a smart boxer though, I think this will be a war of attrition, like the De La Hoya fight, very tense.
I agree with some of your points. Pac's best bet is to outwork Floyd.By doing so, he should not forget to move out of range of floyd's counters. so,yes intelligent pressure is the key. I read yesterday a report and that is exactly what Roach is planning. Just punching the arms may not be a good idea though cause it gives Floyd teh opporunity to counter. Pac needs to try combinations and outhustle Floyd.
Well, Pac is not exactly a face first brawler. With his hand and foot speed, there could be a chance that he will outwork Floyd.
