As a Geale fan I would love to see this happen but I don't think this is a good move for Cotto. Plenty of more deserving opponents.

Certainly not the worst opponent out there if true. It would be a very hard fight for Cotto, in wich he might have to rely on the judges.
IF he wins and fights Golovkin after or drops his belt and fights Canelo, I'm completely fine with that

You were doing good until you got to the PBC part. Monopolies are bad. The sanctioning body that makes rules and crowns champs and orders mandatories should not also be the promoter, the manager, and the programming exec. Nothing against PBC here, just too much conflict of interest.

Geale says he would love a rematch with Golovkin so there's no reason for him to drop the belt should he beat Cotto. It would be the second time he's given up one of his world titles to avoid him too, which would be a really bad look for him. Highly doubtful he'd ever get that rematch later on down the line if he did as well.

Geale is the FAR better fighter.

He's also got a way better back story, and is Champion material, unlike Heiland.

If Geale were to fight agaisnt Heiland, it would be a 120-105 shutout with 10-8 rds going to Geale for outlanding Heiland like 25-1.

If, and that's a big IF....Cotto beats Geale......he's legit at MW.

    And NOT by robbery either.:roll::roll::roll:

Geale is FAR better than Quillin.

And Lee would have only his R hook for any chance of victory over Geale.:patsch

It was OBVIOUSLY a troll reply.

    GGG
    Geale
    Murray
Lee are probably the 4 best MWs.

Cotto comes in a close 5th with Kid Poullo, Korobov, Eubank Jr, NDam, and Lemiuex right there.

Edwin Rodriguez spent time sparring Geale a while back. He said he didn't think much of him beforehand but he was surprised at how much better he is than he looks on tape when you're in the ring with him. He rated him highly after that.

All comes down to motivation, its called fighting to the level of your opponent, a guy on geales level will alot of the time under perform vs a guy whos levels below him, happens to lots of fighters, on the flip side, the lower skilled fighter can fight out of his skin.

It is.....but Cotto beating Geale would give soem legitimacy to his title.

Not saying in the LEAST that's he's the MW Champion, but at least he'd be a legit titlist.

As for Geale winning......He boxed well for a rd vs GGG, but you could see the nervous energy is what cost him the fight.

A rematch, in OZ might be different. He's got b@lls of steel, and I don't think he'd duck, especially if there were $$$$ signs attached to the unification fight. PPV $$$$ signs.:think
