Pacquiao didn't spar because Freddie Roach called it off.

Apparently, he's wary and concerned that Pacquiao may overtrain and peak as little as a week early. So, now he's pulling the cord.

Just curious, but is overtraining even a thing? If Roach let Manny go all out for the next 24 days, what would his overtrained fighter look like? Can it really be that bad?

Yep its a thing. Usually a fighter is drained tired, lethargic....

Roach and Paq have done camp a million times. They are pro's and know what they are doing. if they think they can miss a spa and still be on point then that's their call

yes overtraining can be a significant issue in many sports. There is a peak window for premium body performance and it can be missed. Pacquiao's body has a lot of wear on it, and I'm certain Roach doesnt' want to burn him out.

Like they were gone vs Algieri?

Post evidence to back up your claim.

Do you all think Mayweather Maidana 1 could have been what overtrained looks like or do was that something else? (Style, age)

I think that has more to do with his age.

Pac's current condition rivals Martinez condition against cotto for him to pull this of would be incredible under these circumstances

Sadly can see Roach having to pull Manny out in the early rounds. He can barely stand never mind go rounds with TBE :-(

I think his is a good sign, that he's right on track. I've seen a case where an athlete was over trained it wasn't boxing, but it left her body all messed up as here hormonal levels were a mess after the comp and her creative kinase levels reflect d she was severely over trained.

Meanwhile Floyd has 10 sparring partners lined up and he's chopping woods in between break. Floyd even pretend he's swimming around the ring on his free time.
