It seems that way because Gavin is fringe euro level at best.

Maybe it was to get a dig at Warrr3n who knows.

Cannon fodder seems a bit harsh, size wise it's a mismatch skill wise not so sure, but Even if he has more skils I just don't see him having the size to stop the bigger guys getting to him at world level

A boxer i know called Chad Gaynor said Gavin was the best fighter he had ever sparred with, even better than Kell who he also sparred, skill wise he matches up, but i don't think he brings his best out in the ring where as Kell steps up another level or 2. Its a big thing to go out and perform infront of millions watching, i dont think Frankie revels in it like the top boxers do.

Gavin loses and steps down a weight, no harm done, money made

I think he needs a top level 147lb defeat to convince him any world title ambitions are only realistic at 140lb

And what if he actually performs really well or gets robbed?

He needs to be bullied at 147 by Maidana or KO'ed by Thurman to make him change his mind.

Not being bad-minded when I say that but it's the truth.

Just lose the 7lbs for gods sake!!

To a lessor degree I have thought that about BJ Saunders. Would prefer him to achieve his WBO ambition against Andrade at 154lb. I worry about his power at top level MW.

No that is Amir Khan. Khan's career has lots of similarities to Audley. One more embarassing KO loss or another struggle against a Bum and Amir is right up there with Audley.
