could u imagine corrie sanders with emannuel stewart as his trainer ....what a shame sanders stayed in s africa
Which 3 ATGs did he beat? Last time i checked, his resume consists of wins over Wladmir, Sprott and Bobby Czyz
Well Mr. New To The Sport. Wladimir klitschko. ATG top 10 HW. Destroyed inside 2 rounds. Carlos De Leon. ATG top 10 CW. Destroyed inside a round. Johnny Nelson. ATG great CW. Most World title defences at the weight. Boxing is a good sport to follow. It didn't begin during Ricky Hatton's WBU Sky Sports title reign believe it or not.
Loved watching Corrie Sanders fight. What I wouldn't give to have him or another like him about now...
Sanders was a waste of talent. Lightning hands for a heavyweight. Power, size, good chin, 6'4 and strong with it. Just a shame he came late to the party looking like he ate the entire buffet. He preferred golf to boxing.
I do love me some Corrie Sanders. What a pity he never got better fights. I think a lot of the wind went out of his sails when he realised that between his low drawing power / high danger factor and his less than stellar promoter, that he would never land the big fights. His prime was wasted fighting nobodies. I would have LOVED to have seen him in against Holyfield, Tyson, Lennox or RJJ, all of which he was panting after at one stage or another. And yeah, a different trainer. Volbrecht is actually pretty damn good, but he couldn't get Corrie into the gym enough, apparently.
Bout to say Sanders is the only one I've seen that seemed to visible hurt Vitali. Kudos for Nelson for going the distance with him.
Look at the hell he had vitali under early on even though he was so out of shape. Why oh why had he not got in super shape after beating wlad ????
EXACTLY. My reaction was atschatschatsch when I saw his form. I still think that Vitali is the stronger of the two brothers, and Sanders knew that Vitali was coming in on a mission to fcuk him up. It's almost like he took him lightly - a terrible mistake against the deceptively clumsy looking big Klitschko. :? If Sanders had beaten BOTH Klitschkos he would have punched his ticket to enduring stature. Whereas now he is written off (by some) as a one-hit wonder against Wlad, and he was so much more than that. :yep
