Watching Floyd Sr vs Starling and Leonard, it's clear his sideways defense with crossed arms left his head wide open for left hooks; this is how Leonard ko'd him and how Starling battered him multiple times. Knowing Floyd had adopted the same defense, how does it bode for him vs Pac ?
Pac is a southpaw. Nobody can get close enough to Jr to left hook him because he has longer arms and faster reflexes than Sr. If you smother Jr or maul him on the ropes, you're too close to hook properly.
I remember 5 years ago when the possibility of this fight started Roach had Pac switch his stance once during practice. Now he has Pac do 12 rounds using only his left hand and his fast feet. Roach saw something when DLH fought Floyd and could be simulating a Pac version of it. They've been concentrating on Pac's feet doing sprints in UCLA and climbng bleachers sideways. Makes me wonder if Roach have Pac switch stances on some moves or at least do some strange lead lefts. Scary to think how Pac being ambi wouldve been had he the proper training when he was young.
