Gatti was not a good fighter period and Genaro was at the tail end of his career when he fought Floyd.

While SRL was looking to have some advantages against the likes of Duran, Hagler, or Hearns, at least he wasn't looking for advantages against fighters at the level of JMM, Maidana, or Cotto type guys.

Or that Oscar is simply not as good or even perceived to be as good as Floyd.

Tell that to the poster that initially brought up Gatti. Floyd even back then called Gatti a B or was it D level fighter. At the time the boxing world didn't acknowledge Floyd's skill and talent or p4p claims, he used Gatti as a display.

Oscar would have retired undefeated had he faced the same opposition
FLoyd did. With more spectacular wins to boot. More than likely stops
the likes of Maidana, Guerrero, Judah, Baldomir and possibly Marquez.

    TBE.

So why is he not considered to be as good an overall fighter as Floyd?

These days how many fighters have the opportunity to lose as many PPV fights as Oscar? As long as HBO keep giving him dates (win or lose) Oscar takes them

Why does that matter in this particular thread? Oscar fought everybody. No excuses, no BS. Just total badassery.

Isn't it easy to fight everybody when there is no penalty for losing? In fact, Oscar was given a free pass to lose....and lose he did, a lot.
