Legit world class, international fights that aren't rematches or fights where he has somehow secured and undeserving fighter of his a title fight? Because I'm struggling to see it. The man LOVES domestic fights. Froch's biggest fight? Domestic fight. Bellew/Clev PPV? Domestic fight. Wants Smith/Fielding - Domestic fight. Unless it's Paul Smith getting a shot at AA (Undeserving) or Bellew/Steveson (how the hell did that happen?) or a rematch (Froch/Kessler), how come Eddie can't make the big international fights happen? Froch has wanted Chavez for ages now, but Hearn is obviously holding out for a Degale/Froch showdown... Quigg has never faced world class comp in his division, yet he has a major belt and has had it for ages.
Who would you suggest he puts in with his stable of champions? I'd say both Mitchell & Selby are deserving of title shots & neither is in a domestic fight. As for fielding - smith ( cal smith) why should they not be prompted to fight, I mean how can they claim to be British champion, when there's an arguably equal opponent in the same town they haven't fought. The Brook scenario is that they wanted Khan, the fight puts bums on seats, and let's be honest they'd struggle to get "a name" over for 30may, it's not far off is it... So Gavin (IMO very undeserving of a shot) has stepped up non the less. Huck wouldn't have anything to do with Bellew - Clev & again, there was question over who was the best CW in Britain at the time - only one way to find out , make it, sell it. Looks as though he's trying with Quigg - Frampton , we dunno behind closed doors Hearn does a lot wrong , exploits the PPV aspect to extreme, but -- he can only work with whose realistic .
I really think it mainly comes down to this 1. With domestic opponents Matchroom is in control (most of the time). Theyre the big fish. It's their channel (Sky), their marketing and they're (mostly) the lead promoter. It makes things like arranging rematches much easier and they make more off tickets with two local opponents. Most international opponents arent going to bring many fans to the arena. 2. With Haymon running things in America & Sauerland in Germany...Hearn is often outmuscled financially. The big international stars are really well paid. You have to pay through the nose to get Chavez to fight in the UK. Even lesser stars like Thurman, Maidana etc wouldn't fight in the UK...unless Hearn put up ridicolous money, and he can't. So for Hearn its much easier to hype up domestic fights and sell those
He is totally geared towards big domestic fights, you can look at all the circumstances and make excuses but it is obvious that he wants to protect his fighters unless it a world championship oppurtunity or a big money making domestic fight
I like fights. Domestic or international, title or non-title, stadium or small hall, I just like fights. The more people organising them the better. :good Honestly, I think Eddie's doing okay..
don't know where that's come from, but if that is true it's to be expected , I mean it's the English title, who else would you suggest AJ contest the belt against? Especially in the UK domestic scene there is a shortage of decent , championship level HW's... The only credible opponents would be H Fury - who neither camp would accept the fight, not for the English. And dillian white - same as above & also worth noting he's only 6 months back from a drugs ban, should he be contesting the national title so soon, after fighting two journeymen, a novice & two meaningful fights. All in all the HW Scene is laughable , but you make what you can eh !

Aaah lol, thought you'd seen it somewhere. No it's not that he's protected as such. I honestly believe if they wanted to match him with fury tomoro the fight would get knocked back. He is being brought along at a steady rate for me, people forget he's only early 20's.. He's a wealth of time on his hands. If he wanted to do the proper domestic route, English / British , commonwealth & euro he will find himself in a few of those type fights.. Sad but true, the jump in class from domestic to world is a very big step but undortunately I don't think there's the required fights en route
hearn can put on a few decent fights but as a whole bill his cards aren't competitive to many easy fights for the promoters favoured fighter . where he really fails is his ppv cards and main events are **** ****ing bellew vs cleverly and now brook vs gavin that's *******s its another domestic fight
McDermott vs Whyte was called by the board for the English recently but no one would promote it. Joshua vs anyone with a winning record would be acceptable for the English at this stage although it would be a step down. As for Hearn's international match making as said above the Haymon situation has really disrupted his plans- if it's a Haymon fighter vs a Matchroom fighter Haymon is winning the purse bids which surrenders control of TV rights etc to Haymon. If Frank was sensible he'd form an alliance with Haymon pronto.
