I still think Gassiev would have possibly beat Dorticos though, maybe on points, but good call nonetheless, no need to ruin him this young.

He may well have but it was just a huge risk and one that was totally unnecessary at this stage of his career, IMO. They obviously rate him otherwise they wouldn't be trying to fast track him but there really isn't any need to rush him given how young he is.

I scored the ESPN FNF co-feature for Danny Aquino, 6-2 rounds, 78-74 points, giving Ryan Kielczewski rounds 1 and 6. I had the exact same round-by-round scoring as the ESPN FB scorers, and the same score as two of the judges. Aquino carried this fight, he was the one constantly pressing forward and making the fight, he threw lefts and rights to head and body, often in combination, and although they were pretty much all wide and looping, they had sufficient snap on them to score points, to keep Kielczewski backing up, and to get him visibly tired in the last two rounds. Pending punch stats, Kielczewski was MUCH less aggressive than Aquino, he was constantly backing up during the entire fight, and he generally spent his time looking to land straight counter shots through Aquino's wide punches, which granted he did do multiple times, snapping Aquino's head 2-3 times. Kielczewski only sporadically initiated exchanges, usually with wild looping overhand shots that missed badly. His defense wasn't all that great either, except for Round 6, when he DID maintain effective distance, and forced Aquino to miss with most of his punches. Kielczewski came in with a 3 1/2-inch height advantage (per web search), surely a several-inch reach advantage, and no power whatsoever, so he should have stayed on the outside and boxed with a steady workrate. But Aquino's pressure and workrate, although neither was outstanding, were enough to take him out of his type of fight. Aquino was definitely the deserved winner. Incidentally, BoxRec had Kielczewski ranked #111 at super featherweight, and Aquino ranked #262 at super bantamweight!!! So this was a pretty big upset, relatively speaking. I actually would like to see Aquino again, I'm not saying he can be a contender or anything, but I do think he has something about him.

I'll have to look out for Kielczewski vs. Aquino on YouTube.

Based on the 1st round it seemed a boring lopsided decision for Ryan was in store. Guess not.

Tony Harrison seems almost too good to be true. He is a dream ambassador for the Kronk spirit (tall, lanky and lean but shredded, powerful, great jab when he throws it) and is confident without being arrogant, gifted in gab without being - well, a Broner (aka try-hard poseur) and just an easy kid to root for.

..and oh yeah, 21-0 (18.) and constantly improving.
