I did not realize that they faced each other. I have allways thought that Highsmith was ok as a boxer. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that he was good enough to win a tittle or be in the top 25 but to some extent he knew what he was doing.
Highsmith was definitely a decent fighter. He had the obvious athletecism and a solid fundamental skillset. Had he stuck with it, I don't doubt he could have been a contender.
He was a #3 draft pick. If he got in sooner and didn't have a knee injury, maybe he coulda been something special. But who knows, for as athletic as he is, maybe he doesn't have the mental game.
Most def. Much more to boxing than just physical. But seeing as Highsmith won 25 straight pro fights (albeit against limited comp) I figure he discovered he had some mental fortitude for it as well. Dude was built like a tank too. This content is protected He was off the hook at Miami though. His cousin Ali Highsmith just signed with The Cardinals.
I'm sure he's a hard dude no doubt. But you know as well as I do, no matter how hard you are, at some point you're gonna run into something harder than you, and that's when you gotta change things up. But yeah, he looked like he could box too, but it's hard to tell from just that video because of the quality of his opponent. Either way, he's got some good reflexes and enough power and speed to make a big man turn his back to him.
Hey man, on a different level just cuz nobody seems to think on the same wave length as me when it comes to things like this.... I remember you saying you got upset when your girl e-mailed some guy. What I'm tryin to say is that it's unacceptable for your girl to be hangin out with a guy solo, like say at his house or whatever, if she's in a relationship with you. It's disrespectful. Just like if I'm hangin out with a girl by herself, I'm not there to talk. What the **** I got to talk about? Her problems? I just don't see how I can be if you look at how the majority of guys are acting like girls. And you and I both know that a girl does not one a *****. People know are becoming a product of their own environment, when I'm tryin to control what I can and make my environment a product of me. You gotta look our for yourself. Yeah man. Just glad to see I'm not in the dark. I wouldn't have changed my opinion anyway, but it's just good that other people have at least as similar thought process when it comes to that ****.
Gastineau was even worse than some of the tomato cans Foreman fought when he first came back. It would've been a slaughter. The only reason Gastineau won any fights is because they were fixed. His opponents were basically paid to go soft on him.:yep
