We will see what Fonfara goes on to do. But it certainly seems that way. It wasn't his first big win and while I don't rate Chavez Jr. highly since the Sergio fight (never thought he was great, but he did earn his high 160 ranking), it certainly isn't some sort of tune-up-irrelevant victory, that is for sure.

lol no...you just over rate chavez jr...but he is nothing but a bum, riding daddys name...he has no discipline and even tonight he thought he was winning....he should just quit boxing, unless he plans to go back down to 160..even then, i dont know if i would even rate him top 25 lol

he whined to the ref throughout the fight. lost every minute of every round. afterwards, made bs excuses, and demanded a ludicrous rematch. chavev jr was simply found out, and will never be anything but an easy payday again.

yet he didn't ask for kovalev. he wants stevenson. doubt stevenson will rematch him. unless his only option is kovalev, then he'll jump in that ring with fonfara again.

What the fight really proved is that Chavez Jr with his limited skills has no business at 175. Not to take anything away from Fonfara who is a legitimate top 10 light heavy. Somewhere around 8 I would place him.

Hang on weren't you the guy saying Fonfara was tailor made for Chavez Jr and was gonna get destroyed? You seem to have changed your tune somewhat.
