Anyone else think he comes across a complete and utter ****hole http://www.*****.net/2015/04/22/news/theophane-rules-out-uk-return-aims-to-finish-career-in-us
They gave him a chance and gave him a fair bit of promotion when they put him in against Pablo Cesar Cano on the Floyd/Canelo undercard as the opening TV fight and he took a bit of a beating in all honesty, only fought deep down on Mayweather Promotions cards since.
I knew this was Theopane from the comments before opening the link, I think fair play to him. He's right in that he was not appreciated over here, at all. Yeh he did the right thing by going stateside & getting a few fights under his belt. Thing is he's out there now living the dream isn't he. I know plenty who would jump at the chance of being in His position. Fair play son!
He ain't a big name, wtf has he done to deserve to be 'appreciated'' over here? That's some backwards entitled ''the world owe's'' bs chip on his shoulder bs that he should let go. He's cutting his nose off to spite his face. The US have abigger pool of talent where it will be more difficult for him to stand out and judging by his performances he is nothing special at all about him. No exceptional power, no charisma and just looks like some jailbreak wannabe punk ass motherfcker.
Tell me where I said he's a "big name" - exactly, I never ! However, the likes of Jazza ****ens, Gav McDonnell , Curtis Woodhouse and many many more I could think of are " appreciated" a lot more - by appreciated I mean they are given better reviews / more air time, all that kind of thing than Theopane ever was INCLUDING WHEN HE HELD THE BELT. So yeh, I can kind of understand his reasoning.
I remember when he pretty much beat Danny Garcia and didn't get the decision. Don't have a fxcking clue how that happened
I don't know a great deal about him as a man but as a boxer, well, he has done pretty well. He is enjoying his life and has boxed on some big cards. The Danny Garcia fight could easily have put him over the top had the decision gone his way, which IMO it should have. He has won the British championship and made a couple of defences, boxed and won in Germany which if you listen to some people is impossible. He is not an elite level boxer but he is much closer to the top than he is the bottom and honestly I think he could have done even more. It is easy for people on forums to dismiss a boxer, call him a fool etc, but on the whole these same boxers are out there doing what the name callers have neither the bottle nor dedication to do themselves.
