I think they're both close to each other on the ATG rankings and the winner of this match aside from having bragging rights for the rest of their life will also more than likely be considered the best P4P fighter of the era and the winner should rank higher on the all time list.

So aside from the incredible monetary attachment to this fight, this is definitely going to clarify who the best of this era truly was.

    You said lately.

From '06 to '10 Floyd fought...

    Judah
    Baldomir
    DLH
    Hatton
    JMM
    Mosley

    Manny fought...

    Morales 2x
    Solis
    MAB
    JMM
    Diaz
    DLH
    Hatton
    Cotto
    Clottey
    Margarito

Both fought good fighters in that period. Floyd took a year off and I don't personally buy that it was for the express reason of ducking anyone. Manny certainly fought better fighters courtesy of the Morales fights but it's not like Floyd didn't fight anyone... Do you think any of those men would have beaten Floyd?

Floyd went into hibernation to avoid fighting Cotto or Margarito... and that's a fact...!!!

    Aww c'mon get real

    Castillo beat him got stiffed
    Maidana beat him got stiffed
Hatton was given no chance by the blatant bias of Joe Cortez
Look at all the unfairness in most all of his fights in Vegas
Name me one fighter who had a level straight down the middle even fight with Floyd in Vegas? You'll find it difficult
Could you HONESTLY score Maidana-Floyd 1 either 117-111 or even 116-112 to Floyd??? I couldn't Well the two judges that scored that way will judge on May 2 can you see them giving Manny a dec win ????????

Ya I had Floyd/Maidana I 116-112 for Floyd. So did most knowledgeable boxing experts sitting ringside. It was the average score among the 16 most respected men judging at ringside and not one of those men had Maidana winning. Castillo I is the only truly close fight of his career. I was a huge Hatton fan but it wasn't Cortez that lost him that fight. Cortez could have let Ricky do some more work on the inside but it wouldn't have made a difference. He was getting beaten badly and then he got knocked out, simple as that.

I'm sorry but no. Loses COUNT.

Pacquiao's best win to date is a slightly past it Barrera - who had already been beaten twice by Junior Jones. Floyd's best win compares favorably to Pacquiao's IMO..

There's no reason to put Pacquiao ahead of Mayweather all time.

    None...

Why do you think I'm some huge Floyd fan? I'm not, look at my post history. I like both Manny and Floyd equally and defend both from the other's over the top detractors. But neither Cotto nor Marg would have given him any problems and I very much doubt he was scared of them.

Floyd took off a lot more than 1 year in that timespan. Just between the Hatton and Marquez fights, he took his longest layoff as a professional, approximately 21 months.

Marg is nothing special without the wraps but I would have liked to see Floyd fight Cotto back then.
