Those people are ******ed. Hatton was a big reason for the U.K ppv buys, Mayweather was a big reason for the U.S ppv buys. It's basic common sense.
Obviously Mayweather helped. But before DLH, he was only getting 300-400 buys. And Hatton's more popular then Mayweather ever will be. And don't generalize saying "MOST HERE...". Those types of statements are pointless IMHO. BTW, "Mayweather's 10th-round knockout of England's Ricky Hatton to retain the welterweight championship Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas generated a whopping 850,000 domestic pay-per-view buys and $47 million in television revenue, HBO PPV's Mark Taffet said Monday." http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3158134 Not sure what the buys were overseas.
He's probably counting the U.K ppv buys as well. Mayweather was clearly responsible for most of the U.S buys.
Hatton never even fought on HBO ppv before this fight. He was on ****ing showtime for the longest time.
They were 1.4 overseas. Im asking was Hatton the reason he did 1.4 Million in the UK (I thought it was common knowledge the numbers in the UK) Was Hatton the reason the numbers were so high in the UK and could he do good numbers against merely any fighter in the UK.
No ****. Fighting on TV, whether HBO, Showtime, or Fox sports still GIVES EXPOSURE. A big factor for this might also be the 24/7 shows they did. HBO should have been doing that for most fights now.
True Mayweather was doing decent/good numbers pre DLH. But if Floyd isn't a big draw, why was he able to help DLH break the 2.4 million mark, yet Tito-DLH only did 1.4. Tito according to most people will be recognized as a much bigger draw than Mayweather will ever be, why did DLH-Tito only do 1.4?
