The problem with this thread, is that Lewis DOES have generally good approval.
Everyone knows he was a good champion, at least.
    It's a huge strawman argument.

I keep hearing this stuff "becauise he was British", but his biggest fans and supporters seem to be just as much Americans here as the Brits.

The only real argument here is between reasonable people is between the group of people who sincerely rate him in or close to the very top echelon of HW ATGs, and the group of people who are pretty sure he belongs a couple of tiers below that.
    That's it.

I always thought he sounded like a Canadian putting on an accent.

Well as you know us Canadian's don't have accents, that's why so many of us are actors, and TV announcers. But if you leave anywhere you're toing to pick up the local dialect subconsciously and that's likely what Lewis did.

2 losses in his career, both of which were avenged, that's less than Holyfield, Tyson, Foreman, Ali, Holmes, Liston/thread

    But Ali,Holmes,Foreman,Tyson,Holyfield have more fights.
Avenged loss can't change the fact McCall and Rahman DESTROYED
    him easily.
MCCall had mental problem this win has zero sport value.

The prime Ali and the Prime(eighties) Tyson have zero loss.
    Idiota Lewis fan !
The 38 years + old Holmes,Holyfield and Foreman had lots of fight.
Lewis was 37 years old when he fought his last fight.

LOL, Lewis is now "intelligent" ?

For his short stint on HBO before he got canned he for sure did not sound intelligent..........he is a boxer, lol, most are pretty dense and that includes him.

Never said he wasn't, he just isn't appreciated as a top 3-5 of all time heavy. It shouldn't take 10-20yrs of hindsight to appreciate what should've been obvious when he was active.

So according to you when a fighter you like (Tyson) looses at 24 he's all of sudden out of his prime.

Clay almost lost to Cooper and only an illegal tactic by Dundee prevented him losing.

What a joke of a post.

DESTROYED? I think you got this mixed up with Douglas destroying Tyson. Tyson was crawling around looking for his pacifier, like a little baby.

Or maybe you mean when Lewis destroyed Tyson and Tyson was laying down blood streaming from his face. Is that what you mean?
