The problem with this thread, is that Lewis DOES have generally good approval. Everyone knows he was a good champion, at least. It's a huge strawman argument. I keep hearing this stuff "becauise he was British", but his biggest fans and supporters seem to be just as much Americans here as the Brits. The only real argument here is between reasonable people is between the group of people who sincerely rate him in or close to the very top echelon of HW ATGs, and the group of people who are pretty sure he belongs a couple of tiers below that. That's it.
Well as you know us Canadian's don't have accents, that's why so many of us are actors, and TV announcers. But if you leave anywhere you're toing to pick up the local dialect subconsciously and that's likely what Lewis did.
